it seems that the pump is functioning okay, all drain hoses are clear. When I turn the timer (right knob) to any setting the pump is switched on and will not turn off at any setting. Is this a timer problem? Please advise. trailside83

It does seem to be a timer issue... one more problem. the model/serial number sticker on edge of door is torn badly so I can not identify the exact model number to order the timer online. Is there another place that I can find the model number. The washer came with the house and no manuals. thanks in advance. trailside83

Check the easy stuff first. My solution was to clear the Anti-Siphon valve that is easily accessible on the top of the sink. After I verified my filters were clean and the pump was working I found the clogged anti-siphon valve. Cleared that and my dishwasher worked just fine. Lift the decorative cover off and mine had two small tabs to remove a cap. I found peanuts and a match head inside. Who knows how they got there. To be sure I had everything I removed the hoses under the sink and then removed the whole valve and carefully cleaned it. I'm not sure that was necessary though. Hope this helps

Hi,

You either have a faulty drain pump motor..Or there is some blockage at the pump to drain hose area....Remove the front bottom kick plate....Set the washer to drain...See if you can hear the pump humming ..If so you will need to remove the hose from the drain pump...Be careful o the amount of water that will come out...Best thing to do is use a shop vac to empty the inside drum...Then use again underneath once you carefully remove the hose. Pump is easily accessed once you take off the bottom panels, so do that and investigate as needed to see what is really wrong. There is no secret to taking off the bottom panels-all screws are clearly visible.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

If you have already excluded pump and hose, not being the case here - next two probabilities would be timer and control board. The most common problem is the timer going bad. As long as it works good
and advances through the cycles and just hangs up when it comes to
draining the water then I would say you have a bad timer.

    Thanks and Regards

Without the model number, it would be really tough to find the exact timer. However, ideally model numbers are printer more often in multiple locations. Look at the below link and see, if you could find the model number engrossed anywhere else on the machine :-

    Above is a generic picture.

My Viking DFUD042 is stuck in drain cycle while fresh water is entering the dishwasher through the grid on the right side. The pump is working continuously and it only stops after I turn off the power. ...

Hi, this could be a bad control board or a bad motor. It uses the same motor to wash as to drain. It just changes the direction of the motor in order to switch from drain to wash.
You'll need to run a cycle and you will need a multimeter to check which one needs to be replaced. Remove the kick panel and check the grey wire to the ground wire when it should be washing. If you have 120 volts, you need to order and replace your control board. Otherwise, if you don't have power and it's still draining, you need to order and replace the motor.
