Hello
To have a password that can be bypassed is not any type of security, so not it will not be easy.
If you want to gain access to the printer again you will need to call Kyocera service and have a tech come out and unlock the printer, sorry but there is no other solution.
If they made it easy, anyone could steal your printer, and reset the password and use it!!!
The reason for the password is security so employees can't bugger with the settings after the IT department or yourself has set it up, and so thieves can't use it properly.
BUT
I highly suggest trying 9999 as the password.
Let me know if this doesn't work!
(X may be 0, 1, 2), reset to factory as follows:
1) Turn off, unplug.
2) Remove the IB-2X card. Mine is secured with two thumb screws. Just give it a tug and it comes out.
3) Locate the jumper. Remove it, rotate 90%, and install on SW2.
4) Reinstall IB-2X.
5) Plug in and power up, wait for READY.
6) Turn off, unplug.
7) Remove the IB-2X card.
8) Remove jumper, rotate 90%, and reinstall in previous position.
9) Reinstall IB-2X.
10) Unplug the network cable.
11) Plug in and power up, wait for READY.
12)
Admin password is now blank. TCP/IP settings: DHCP is on, subnet mask
is 000.000.000.000, default gateway is 000.000.000.000, IP address is
000.000.000.000. Change settings to desired.
And I said let me know if that doesn't work, not rate my first suggestion as a solution and then put the question off to other experts. Anyway, you now have your answer.

Wow it looks like you've had a lot of proposed solutions. Hopefully I can help, though I doubt it now. I just wanted to say, in perusing the manual, it says you can reset the printer (page 1-11) by going to Menu>Others>Printer Reset. I'm not sure if that will solve your problem or not (probably not), but if it does yay!
I'm sorry nobody has really been able to help you. 8 days is a ridiculously long time to have to wait on something this simple, Kyocera does make it way too difficult. I'll try to get a hold of them to see if there's some "hidden procedure", as I've seen with a few other technological gadgets, to reset it back to factory. Let me know if the printer reset works, and I'll get back to you as soon as I hear from them. Best of luck!

gejac,
I just heard back from Kyoceramita, they say the only way to reset the printer to factory default is to give them a call at 800-255-6482 and choose option 1 to start a remote session, where they will send commands to the computer and will give it the reset command. Hopefully you get this comment/it's what you need!

The link below is the user manual, I just thought you might gonna need it someday.

Restore the factory-set defaults
Restoring the factory-set defaults returns all of the settings to the factory defaults.
1. On the product control panel, press Setup.
2. Use the arrow buttons to select Service, and then press OK.
3. Use the arrow buttons to select Restore defaults, and then press OK.
The product automatically restarts.
I really do apologize for the inconvenience,

It is very easy to reset the device to factory defaults.
When clicking the Reset button, the machine returns to the factory default settings. However, the document box, address book, user information, logs, and certificates are not deleted.
Additionally you can follow http://www.kyoceramita.co.uk/dlc/gb/documentation/usermanual/command_center_og.-downloadcenteritem-Single-File.downloadcenteritem.tmp/Operation_Guide%20...CENTER_%28ENG%29.pdf.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.
Usually the best way to get the unit working fully is to replace the memory in the unit. Usually the password is stored there and if there is no way to retrieve the password then you just have to replace the memory which is default 128mb unless it has been upgraded to as much as 640mb.This is the only way to by pass the password which has been set on the unit unless you get the password back.
Hope this support has been helpful?
Thank you for visiting FixYa.
Hi,
Check all the doors are fully shut including the lower left door. Go into service mode by pressing * then #. Use left and right keys and find "printer". Find "reset printer".Confirm yes to "reset printer"
switch OFF for ten seconds and then ON again.
Hello
12) Admin password is now blank. TCP/IP settings: DHCP is on, subnet mask is 000.000.000.000, default gateway is 000.000.000.000, IP address is 000.000.000.000. Change settings to desired. (My TCP/IP settings: DHCP off, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.15.1 [Linksys R31P2 router], IP address 192.168.15.111)
13) Reconnect network cable.
14) In your favorite browser, go to http://192.168.15.111 or whatever your IB-2X IP address is for more setup.
You can use a fixed IP, like I do, or a DHCP IP and use the server name for client connects. Kyocera docs recommend turning off unused network protocols.
You can also find some manuals, drivers, and handy utilities at the Kyocera website. IB-Quicksetup is pretty good. So is NetViewer. Unfortunately, none of the online manuals have a procedure to rest to factory settings, hence my call to Kyocera.
Im not sure how much it will help you ..cause I didn't found the info needed for the reset to default in your case..But , I know for sure that all devices with memory for settings and such even when they are off..and unplugged have a internal battery similar with the bios battery in computers and this one function is to power the internal memory ...so ..if you locate it ..and remove it for a few seconds all settings will get back to the factory default ..or ...if you can not locate i t..just write to the support site and see if there are available firmware updates or the original firmware for download..Once installed the firmware from scratch ..all settings values will get to the factory default ...and all errors are removed if they are software related..
You might out of luck because they company wont give out the procedure or they might charge you $50.00 for procedure. Below is the what I found on the web for different model but the procedure is the same (the printer server card is different either 1x or 2x, but you only have one for each printer)
Turn off, unplug.
12) Admin password is now blank. TCP/IP settings: DHCP is on, subnet mask is 000.000.000.000, default gateway is 000.000.000.000, IP address is 000.000.000.000. Change settings to desired.
13) Reconnect network cable.
They also have something call ResetLan tool, but it costs you.
Try above step at your own risk. Thank you

Dear,
this does not work, there is no strap.
I cannot accept this solution as it leads to nowhere.
Regards
The proposed solution does not work.
It is not for this device.
HI,
yes thought of that too, but opened tehd evice, cannot find a battery somewhere.
Today it is mostly in flash , so no way to clear if you don't have some way to go into service menu or so...
thanks
Someone else who knows how to fix this, Why should a repair technician come by and in 15 minutes fix this (via some secret key sequence or so ) just to get some $$$$
Maybe these devices are very economical to use , but this way to make money...seems it was my last Kyocera.
No thanks, got this solution from someone else.
Does not apply to this device.
Regards
Who can give me the correct procedure to reset a Kyocera (FS-C5025N or FS-3820N) to factory default without knowing passwords (forgotten), or getting into the front control panel (as this is locked)
Regards
Dear,
can you point me to the * and# button, as this printer has only some arrow keys, go, menu and keys.
I have no keys with a * or #.
thanks
No one who knows how to rest to factory default of the kyocera printers ?
Can't be.
Replacing the memory or removing does not help at all. THink more of a specific controlpanel button sequence/combination or push at powering up the printer ?
Maybe someone an Idea ?
regards
There is no reset button (except in Web interface) But that one is locked (administrator password lost) as are the front panel buttons too. So no way to get into whatever menu.(web or printer).
Regards
Cannot get into Reset menu below Service as it does not appear here. (due to locking in the webadmin via lost password)
regards
HI,
correct, it is hidden en when the device is locked due to webadmin (lost admin password) and also a lock of front panel buttons is activated, there is no way to get in except call a technician to come by to do a reset (max 15 min work). So it is possible but you need to have done a course ($$) or pay for the technician to come by ($) for a simple procedure everyone can do.
An thinking this company is saying that these printers are very economical.....yes right.
So hopefully someone knows the way to reset it....
Regards
Difficult to get hold of this simple procedure IMHO.
Dear,
Need to reconfigure the device, new ip network and snmp settings, but lost password and front panel buttons locked. So no access anymore to the settings.
regards
Any other ideas.
Otherwise need to close this problem.
And call Kyocera tech support.
No,
this last procedure does not reset the command center (web admin) password....
No,
thanks for aal teh suggestions, I have read all the manuals and threads on th einternet. Cannot get the correct solution to this.
This question can be closed, as nobody seems to have the solution.
I call the Kyocera technical support to come by to reset the device.
Regards
No,
9999 does not work. As I bought the device, I should be able to reset it completely. SO they should provide me the tools/guidelines to do it, I cannot do something wrong with this. I have to encounter the first IT hardware (networking devices or comm devices) yet which does not have this possibility documented.
Need to bring the device in, they charge me $75.00 to get it reset.
Thank you Kyocera, the last device I ever bought from them.
