HP Officejet 4215v All-in-One Printer Logo
Posted on Jul 13, 2011

I just bought a new computer. Someone assisted me in connecting the computer and my HP Officejet 4215v all-in-one. We were unable to install using the cd so we went online. My problem is that the scan feature is not working. It may be that the fax is not working also. I have not checked.

For scanning you may have to go to HP.com, find your model and they have a manual that you can go to to get the information. It will tell you what to do. I had to same problem, printer on the front was telling me that I did not have that feature. HP has good technical help and support, so you can to that section in HP. If you have another program on your computer, such as Microsoft Publisher, or any other program that you can use for scanning, use that and don't worry about the HP.

On the fax, do you have a telephone attached. If not, you would have to attach your phone to it; the only problem is when you are using the fax, no one can reach you on your phone, unless to get a separate phone to handle it. I use to have a separate phone, using a student line with the telephone company, but that was extra money. If I need to fax, I just go to an outside fax place.
