Hi, I have the Digital Lifestyles 42 inch Model LT 42323. I am also having the same problem with the set not turning on and the red light blinking on and off. I couldn't get the set to turn on at all last night even after unplugging it several times. The night before it did finally turn on after about 20 minutes following the above procedure. Last night no luck at all. It's now noon time and the set goes on and off like there's nothing wrong. Yesterday afternoon I was hooking up a DVR and had the set on and off lots of times with no problem but last night it wouldn't go on. Yet right now it's working like a charm. I've checked the timer and it is not programmed to shut on and off so I am at a loss to understand what's going on. I'm afraid that by tonight around 11PM when I want to watch a movie and the news it won't turn on. Is this the same problem with a faulty capacitor also? I'm very confused by this and it's very frustrating. By the way this set has been doing this infrequently on and off for a long time. Thanks for your help. Eric

I've had the same problem. Usually, if I turn the TV off and then back on again, it's fine.

Unplug your television for fifteen minutes or so then plug it back and that should bring back the video.

SOURCE: i need the remote control

I have found nlaremotes.com to work really well for me. They are able to get you a remote that is just for your device (not a vague universal with limited functionality). The Digital Lifestyle codes seem to be a national secret.

I have a 42 inch philips lcd tv and it will not turn on. Tried unplugging it for 60 seconds and only the light will blink red sometimes and then blue sometimes. Do I change out the power source

Number of TV have a bad batch of capacitors on the power board. If you look like split mushrooms that is a bad sign. But there are kits if you know how to solder.

When i turn on my tv it tries to boot, blue mitsubishi home screen come up, i hear fan then it all shuts off while green light blinks.

Try a reset. Start by unplugging for 1 minute, then plug back in & if still won't restart try the following. If none of the following work, you will need a technician.

We have a digital lifestyles LCD tv model number LT 42323 The standby light is not on. When you try to power on, instead of turning green the light flashes red and then nothing happens.

HI Julie,

First of all thank you for contacting Fixya.com regarding on your TV problem.

Sad to say that this model no has no reset aside from unplugging it from the outlet. The symptoms you've mentioned is very common fault not only on your TV but in almost brands. It is caused of out-of-regulation in the power supply board and the suspected faulty parts is the electrolytic capacitor.

If your unit is not under warranty period(if so, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free) open the rear cover and inspect the electrolytic capacitor on the power supply board. This board is where the power cord's directly connected. Most of the faulty capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection. If you found them on the board replaced it with new, same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. Watch the video below for more info.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to replaced the entire power supply board. It is more convenient if you are going to DIY because no soldering required.

Another option is to bring the power supply board to repair shop. You can save some money on the service fee rather than bringing the entire unit. This is fixable and quite basic to technician.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Rating and feedback are highly appreciated.

Have a nice day!

Good luck and take care!

Kind Regards,

We just purchased a LG tv #60330 from Sears. It is the floor model. We can't get the remote to work. We only get 1-13 channels. There wasn't a manual with the tv.

Hi, you can check your remote is actually transmitting information using a digital camera or phone camera, switch your camera on as if you are going to take a photo, point your remote at the camera's lens at about 4 to 6 inches away and while viewing the remote on the camrea's screen press a few buttons on your remote, you should see a blinking white light on your camera's screen (Camera's pick up the infra red light) if you don't check your batteries are in the right way and that they are not flat (Try new batteries) then try the camera/remote test again, if you still can't see any blinking light then the remote is likely to be faulty.
If the remote works I.E. you can see a blinking white light, then perhaps Sears provided you with the wrong remote, I have provided a link for the manual so you'll be able to check.

Here's the link for your manual ---> CLICK HERE <---

Hope this helps!
