Have the above car on a S plate done 29.000 miles
The car keeps cutting out and the Orange light from the ups comes on. the car restarts ok you can drive for maybe 5 mins then it will happen next time it may not cut out for a longer time. you can very easily restart it. I have changed to Fuel fitter, I have had it put on a computer machine at a auto electric shop but nothing is showing up on there machine. Any ideals
Put an additional petrol pump in the fuel line ,they cost about150€ from the bosch agent ,connect in line and splice the feed from the pump in the tank ,that will cure it ,these cars suffer from a dodgy connection in the feed wires to the pump in the tank, they corrode and get hot in the connector head of the unit .An additional pump releaves some of the load and will keep it going evan if the one in the tank plays up .
SOURCE: my peugeot 206 diesel keeps cutting out, now it
In my opinion cut off problem occurs if engine is not getting sufficient fuel and/or air. Clean the air filter, turbo filter and fuel filter. Check the continuity of diesel flow from filter to hdi pump. If you haven't found any problem there then the possibily the hdi pump and injectors section needs to be checked. If the car has done more than 100000 miles then clean inlet and outlet manifolds including check of turbo and EGR valve. Do everything whatever possible before you take your car to garage. If there is no luck then let your car diagnosed and check any error code recorded by ecu.

My daughter's 206 is doing the same. When she is driving at about 50mph the engine cuts out. The car starts up immediately but it keeps on happening. We have recently had it serviced.
Exactly the same problem - search on line and it seems there are plenty of Peugeot drivers with the same issue. We have been on the diagnostics twice and a fault cannot be identified. Peugeot dealers are towing the party line by saying they have never heard of the fault but for another £70 we can put it on the machine again. This is dangerous and you would think trading standards would be interested
Lately, since December, while i am driving in my 206 the engine just cuts out / DIES! The car jerks a bit and then the engine just dies. I can be going 120 on the highway and then the next instant it is dead!
I have read articles that other Peugeot owners complain about this same issue and they also all complain that it does not get fixed. Search Google for "peugeot 206 engine cuts out while driving" and see the complaints regarding this.
It is very dangerous when it happens, because the engine cuts out the power steering goes and the breaks go stiff. It has happened on the highway before, luckily it was quiet.
I need this fixed as it is a HUGE problem! i don't feel safe driving my car!
yep me too just started today 3 days after passing the MOT. wouldnt start at all had tp jump start it then every time i press the clutch the engine dies.
i got exacly the same problem on my 206, been back the dealer 3 times, everytime they claim the have fixed the problem, after picking up the car, the car break like 500 yrd away frm the dealer
I have the same problem. My 2006 verve has been back to the garage at least 3 times in the past year.
The garage has always appeared surprised when I describe the fault ...the car cuts out when I slow and the steering locks and has led me to believe that my car is unique with this problem! They last fixed it just after Christmas (a few days before the warranty ran out), but today it cut out 3 times.
I agree about not feeling safe, I've had a few close misses on roundabouts.
I have a similar problem surely some one knows tha cause,, if not we ALL should persue peugeot for latent defect<< some thing must be done,, don,t you all agree
