I need to find where I can get a battery charger for Model # PL3-01 Motorized scooter

  • Anonymous Jul 11, 2011

This is not the scooter that I am referring to.

The model # is PL3-01 and it RED and is only 3 wheels similar to a Ranger Freedom Scooterwith a rechargable battery in the front that is removable. I am not sure of the name of it I was able to pull off the model # from under the seat.

    Thanks,

    Cathy

Is it a sealed lead acid scooter battery? Youcan get the replacement battery as per your scooters model number at http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/scooter-trickle-battery-chargers.html.All that you have to do is just search with the model number and you will getthe battery charger. Hope thiswill help you. Good Luck.

Getting a 250 Rascal Motorized Scooter to run when battery indicator shows green. Is there a safety feature that we are unaware of?

If you leave the battery charger plug in the charging port the scooter will not move. If the disengagement lever is not engaged the motors will not run either.

Have a borrowed Rascal 250 motorized scooter that seems to be charged as indicator is green but cannot get it to run.

If you can push the scooter freely then have a look at the very back of your scooter near the rear tires. There is a leaver there that needs to be moved into a locked position to engage the system.

Also a scooter will not function if the charger is attached.

Scooter battery meter dips

After 10 to 12 hour charge, unplug the charger, make sure the freewheel lever is in drive mode, you will know if it is because you have a hard time trying to push the scooter. Turn it on and try to drive if the meter goes to above the middle on the meter, it should ok, but, if the needle goes to red right away time for new batteries. Will need more info to go any farther. or you could go to www.strege.com/BlueDoc it is an app to help trouble shoot scooter problems.

My leo mobility scooter charger light shows green as soon as connected to power it remains green when attached to the battery and does not charge

Hi, that could be because it can't see the battery voltage in most cases or at worse the batteries refused to charge, or your charger has called it a day , check the fuse on the scooter as well...

My dads scooter won't charge. No light comes on indicating it is even charging. Is there any way to check charger operation?

Good day,try visiting where the scooter was made & download a user guide for the scooter model you have.It could be something simple, like a fuse blown in the charger.Never rely on a new fuse will work, better to take the same rating fuse out of something that you know works with the fuse you need.I hope I have helped,Colin

I would say that both the batteries are not holding a full charge ....I had one in the past for my mother and if it was not chraged on a regular basis the batteries would die out ....the cheapest and easiest route here is to try new batteries.

Hi do you need to turn on key to charge up battery on a wheeltech mobility scooter i just purchased with no manual thanks

No, you don't need to turn on the key to charge. Just plug in the charger and turn on the charger if there is an on/off switch on it. The charger indicator and the scooter meter will read full when the scooter is fully charged. Hope this helps.

If not using a scooter for months at a time, what is best way to preserve the batteries and the scooter?

There is really no easy answer for this, it's kind of a lesser of 2 evils kind of thing.

The batteries on scooters and power chairs have a gel inside them that will oxidize or solidify if it is not put on a charger on a regular basis (at least once a week for 8 hours). However, keeping the batteries connected to the charger for a long period of time (weeks, months) can cause the power cells inside them to deteriorate and not last as long. Scooters and powerchairs are meant to be used and portable, which is why this type of universal gel battery is standard in nearly all of them.

Storing the scooter outside can be a problem as the controller can be damaged by water, heat or condensation and the tires and seat upholstery may crack under weather extremes as well. Storing inside is recommended, if possible.

The best I can suggest is to store the scooter in some type of shed so that it is protected from the elements, and cover it with a soft water proof cover, like those used to cover outdoor grills. Get an outdoor electronic light timer and drop cord and plug it into a grounded outlet, attach the charger and plug the scooter to the charger. Set the timer to turn the charger on for 8 hours once a week. Hopefully, this will keep your scooter in good condition until you can use it again.

I hope this information is helpful to you- good luck!
