If you are using some kind of a receiver try to check the cable specially the input, output connection to your tv and receiver. Hope that this may help.

How to get sound to tv from JVC TH-M606 without sub woofer.Also trying to put in progressive mode without remote

Hi,

If I understand your question correctly you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver,JVC TH-M606 ** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV

** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on JVC TH-M606 RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the JVC TH-M606 Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

If you want to listen your receiver thru your TV, sorry but it is not a preferable attempt since TV sound system is not a HI-FI quality compare to your nice Receiver..if you really want to do it,try to do the connections given above in reverse..

And,best of my knowledge I am afraid you can not put in progressive mode without remote

Yes you can get simulated 5.1 surround sound from your TV as well as radio. Just switch the JVC surround mode to Pro Logic II movies or music In some systems it will display only PLII.
Just connect the TV audio out to the JVC Aux input at the back ( red and white sockets ).

Connecting TV, cable decoder and xr29m80

you have two choices. a newer connection you must have on both devices is a optical connection. if you have this buy a digital optic cable.

if you dont have this connection. look for a red and white connection on both devices this is just a simple audio lead .
To recieve the sound through the speakers after you have installed the leads make sure the home cinema function is set to "tv"

How to get 5.1 sound from plasma tv to home theater system?

You just need to connect an Audio Out port on the back of your TV to an Audio In port on the back of your JVC box. See what connections you have, I'm sure there are lots of options for you such as HDMI or just normal 2-cord audio cables.

You must have an audio cable connecting the "AUDIO OUT" jacks of your TV to the "TV IN" jacks of the JVC receiver.

i have a scart cable from the jvc to the tv
i also have aerial from tv to jvc

this all worked fine before i switched on my sky+HD box.
as i said earlier i can recieve sound from the dvd, usb and radio. I dont intend to sound stupid here but maybe i will............i think i need to press buttons on the remote, !!! sound is still coming from the jvc system for all other 3 dvd usb and radio so why not the telly ???

OK... I'm guessing the SCART goes from the output of the JVC to the input of the TV. How is the sky+HD box hooked to the JVC?

there is no connection between the sky+HD box and the JVC. I only just upgraded to the HD as i had sky+ before and it worked perfectly well . Thank you for your help
