Some Onkyo receivers are known to have HDMI issues (it has faulty capacitors). The first thing to do is to reset the receiver.
To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while
holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button (see
page 96 of the manual).
If that doesn't work it will have to go in for repair to have the HDMI board replaced.
Yes, it is a known problem with the HDMI switching circuit. Onkyo has acknowledged the problem but will not issue a recall. Instead they want you to pay for a repair. It is due to defective surface mount capacitors on the HDMI circuit board. Pretty much every Onkyo authorized service center should be able to fix it as this problem has been known about for quite some time.

Hi,
Normally all peripheral equipments should go to Receiver first as master controller..
than you can navigate their A/V signal thru your receiver to be transfer to your TV..
"OUT "from Receiver TO " IN to TV"
Pls re-cable them ,everything will work..

Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me

Hi, As a interim solution and in order to eliminate the problem which could be generated due to HDMI faulty circuit as other expert " simplemitch" says ,and if you cant or do not have any intention to take the receiver to ONKYO service , I recommend you to switch to "Optic cable " instead on HDMI on these connections..
I understand that it is not a acceptable position ,you spend a lot on Receiver and it does not let you use with pleasure ..Take care...Regards
