Hi, My mobile is permanently diplaying the message: Inactive Sim I cannot make or receive calls. Nor send/receive text messages. There is a: No Network Coverage message which comes up if I try to send texts or make a call. It is a PAYG sim from Tesco. I have plenty of credit and use the phone regularly... Please help if you can.... Thanks. Stuart

This is a known design flaw with the w760i - it occurs when the phone requests info from the SIM (building contact list etc.) and the SIM connection is lost. This would happen on any phone but the w760i has a shock protection design issue whereby closing the slide quickly causes the SIM to disconnect. You should be able to replicate the issue by turning the phone on and slamming the slider shut as soon as the phone shows your network name. Leave the phone on for a bit and you will feel the phone buzz and 'Inactive SIM' will display, the phone will then reboot.
SOURCE: Cannot send text messages
1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct
2. call to your network operator customer care
3. request the message center number...
4.note it down
5. go to message settings>message center number
6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it
this solves your messaging problem ...
Good luck
Testimonial: "This was perfect advice as I discovered the service centre number was gone. Now I just need to find what that number is and put it in and I a back in business. So grateful. Many thanks. Kitty "

How do I remove this post please? Problem is now solved. Thanks
I rang Tesco Mobile Customer Services and explained the problem.
They checked my Network Settings and adjusted them from their end.
I then hadto remove the battery whilst the handset was switched on, re-insert the battery, re-start the phone and the problem went away....
