Hello, I accidentally deleted my sansa view's firmware and all other data or whatever its called on the device, and I'm guessing that that's why it will not start up. I hold up, then the blue light around the ring comes on, but no screen light. If i plug it in to a usb or charger, same thing happens. What can I do?

Its not playing videos

First step --
Download a PDF copy of the Sansa View manual. Here's a link:

http://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=sansa+view+manual&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

There are two likely reasons for the video not to work;
1) The software that runs your Sansa View, known as 'firmware', is outdated;

2) Your video requires conversion before you download it.

1) Firmware update?
Download a copy of the Sansa Firmware Updater from here:

http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4431

Start it on your computer, and follow the directions to update your Sansa View's firmware, if needed.

2) Download and install the Sansa Media Converter (SMC) from the same link above.
--Plug in your Sansa View to the computer, and run the SMC.
--Follow the directions to select your video. SMC processes one video at a time for upload into your Sansa player.

Another possibility - Try loading video from Windows Media Player 11;

From the manual, page 17--
"Your Sansa View player supports MPEG-4 Simple Profile up to VGA, H.264 Baseline Profile up to VGA, and WMV up to QVGA video formats.
That means you can simply drag and drop these files into the Video folder if you are using Windows Media Player 11."

Hopefully, that will help you get your videos in!

It is getting stuck while refreshing the database.

Depending on the amount of the data or music files you have on your device, "Refreshing Database" may take a while to finish. But if you feel it's frozen you may try the following steps:
Reset the device 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player. NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.
Delete recently loaded files 1. Connect the device to the PC in MSC mode using force MSC. 2. Locate and delete recently added files. 3. Disconnect the device from the PC.
If this resolves the issue, proceed to STEP 3. Otherwise, format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.
Update to the latest firmware You may need to upload the firmware manually, there are instructions on the links below on how to manually update your firmware Sansa c200 series firmware update Sansa Clip firmware update Sansa e200 series firmware update Sansa Fuze firmware update Sansa View firmware update

For 01.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards
For 03.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 2) - up to 4GB microSDHC cards

For deleting files connect your player with the computer.
When running Windows Media Player 11:

1. Check the automatic SYNC routine for your player.
How to get to the SET UP SYNC
When viewing WMP11 in full mode select SYNC or LIBRARY in the top of WMP11, seeing the Sansa player listed on the left.
Right click on the player and select SET UP SYNC... to go to the SYNC options.

When "Sync this device automatically" is selected, all playlist in the computers' Library will be transferred to the player again, even the previous deleted files. Disable this function to prevent unwanted SYNC.

2. Remove playlists from the library in set up sync, to get the playlists you would like to keep on the player.

How do I recover a recording deleted accidentally from Sansa e250

It is possible to recover your lost recordings.

First things first: DO NOT take any more recordings with the MP3 that you want to recover records from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of recovery.

Then Connect the MP3 to your computer as it should appear as a "Removable Drive" or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a data recovery utility that will recover your recordings with Wondershare Recovery Software from the following link:

Video Audio Photo Recovery (if you are running Windows OS)
Mac Data Recovery (from MacUpdate site)

Do NOT try & write anything back to your MP3 until you can recover your recordings safely!
