SOURCE: One of both Devices doesn't receive

Hola
Suerte!!

Check your Interference Eliminator Code.

SOURCE: Motorola Talkabout FV700 not transmitting nor receiving

To troubleshoot: Unlock your keypad lock, then reprogram your radios to the following settings. (Check function after each change)
1) Shut off the Interference Eliminator (set to zero).
2) Turn off the Qt filter.
3) Vox setting to off.

By shutting off all the "bells and whistles" of the radio, you will take it back to being just simply on a frequency. If your radios do not communicate with one another then, or with your friend's radios, you have radio which is failing to operate.

If the radios do work in this simple mode. One by one add the special features back until you discover the culprit.

My Yaesu Ft-857 transmits ok on 2 meter. But the receive only work sometime?

Sounds like a bad receiver in the radio.
Have you checked the VSWR of you antenna system?
Did it ever work with the current setup?
If so has anything changed with the programming of the radio or the antenna system?
Does 70cm work OK?
Are you sure menu item 080 is set to "SQL" and not "RF-GAIN"?
Are you sure the receiver is not programmed for tone squelch?
Either of those settings could cause receive problems if not used properly.

Radio will not send

It is possible your Code for transmit is different than your Code for receive. Cobra makes so many models, you are not giving enough information. Also, Transmit takes a LOT of power, so even if everything is setup, if your batts are weak or old, the radio will receive, but not transmit. Also check your antenna, make sure it is tight and NEVER transmit without an antenna. Yes, all lights will work even with old batteries.

Cobra 1000 will not receive or transmit.

Sounds like a problem with the VCO / PLL Circuit since nothing happens in RX or TX. Check to make sure you have the correct supply voltages to start with and also check to see if you have 10.240Mhz. Use the service manual and go through the PLL/VCO alignment section. If anything is missing then you at least know where to look.

My motorola rdu2080d receives calls, but does not make them.

You either have a programming issue, bad/low battery, or your radio may be in need of repair. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, so the first to go is transmitting when you have a bad/low battery. Secondly, this type of issue can be caused be a bad internal PTT, which is a common failure part on this radio.

Best regards.

FR60 intermittent transmission

Hello snorker,

It could be battery / power issue. Two-way radios draw much more power when transmitting then receiving. If the batteries are weak the radio might work perfectly fine on receive and then cut-out when you depress the Push-To-Talk.

Best Regards,
Ken
