I have the bose av28 media center, life style 28, remote broke, i have a time warner clikr 5 universal remote can this control the bose 28 ?

No, only the Bose remotes will work with it! Bose doesn't let any other remote to work on their systems.

Can not get any sound to work on my bose 28 life style system first time using it. and got a new tv

If you have no sound from any source (CDs and radio included) then check the Audio Input cable at the back of the media center. Make sure it's plugged into the top portion of the 'speakers' section into where it says "main" and not "BoseLink"
If this is fully connected, but still no audio- check to make sure your Acoustimass module (subwoofer on the floor) is plugged into a working power outlet. If that fails, try unplugging both power cords for the system for about 30 seconds.

Bose - Custom EQ Error: 10

Hi, I have just had the same problem and the advice from BOSE was to turn everything off and disconnect the sub from the main unit, wait 10 mins and turn everything back on, making sure to turn the sub on first.

As it happens i then noticed I had connected the sub via the BOSE link speakers plug to the main unit rather than the correct "MAIN" socket. - so if you are reading this you know I am a fool! But the sound now works.

Basically BOSE confirmed the reason for error 10 is that the main unit is not detecting the sub and speakers.

Anyway, I hope my foolish mistake, helps save time and blushes for anyone reading this link.

Bose Lifestyle 28 not playing DVD

Hi Capt Gene, Cleaning the laser lens is a good idea. Try to clean it with a 70% alcohol dipped Q-tip carefully. Or with specific repair kit, something like: http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Alera-Technologies-Aleratec-Disc-Repair-Plus-Cleaning-Refill Now about opening it, I could only tell my experience with my Lifestyle 20 system: I took the entire case off of my Lifestyle 20 system as the CD Changer Manual Release would not work. I removed all silver covers by carefully prying (glued on). Removed the there Phillips head screws in-line from left to right. Then I used a slot screw driver to pop the tabs under the end silver covers. Now I had an access to the motor and you can genteelly clean or grease Hops it help. Nuck. P.S All Bose could do was offer the $200 repair, which I refused
