It will not connect to wireless, it keeps saying turn on wireless communication switch yet there is no switch on the computer. I have been without a computer for almost a week, please help!

@kblossom1280

There's two switch to turn the wireless capability of this laptop:

1. You need to turn ON the physical wireless switch located at the top of the keyboard (see image below)

ray_tosh_8.png
2 If that doesn't turn the Wireless ON, you need to press the Fn+F8 key (the Fn key is located on the left side of the space bar).

Good luck.

How to switch on my wifi

1. There is a wireless on/off switch on the righthand side of the laptop between microphone jack and USB port. Slide this switch to the right to turn it on and to the left to turn it off. Check the Wireless communication indicator on the front side. It will start glowing orange when the wireless communication is enabled.
2. Also, Fn+F8 Key turn on/ off the wireless communication.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

The F8 button is to get into safe mode not for wireless!!!!
There is either a button near the lid to switch it on or off.
Alternatively right click on the wireless icon at the lower left and switch on.

Fn+F8 hotkey dose not work but the remain FX go fine

Another Alternative is to check your BIOS to see whether or not your Wireless is turned on, if it is not pressent in your BIOS then update your BIOS Driver on the Internet to ver 1.4, Double check your version Compatabillity. Next if the adapter driver is installed, follow the following intructions: start -> settings -> control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> now look for the wireless adapter, see if it is operational or marked with an error -> if it is marked check that it is configured for automatic, and also the resources. Set the configuration manually if so. restart the system.

1) Resource conflict = change resource settings
2) No adapter = check if the adapter is enabled (Y) then see if there is any conflicts (y) correct the settings e.g. resources and see if windows shows that the device is enabled (N) try to enable this device. If (N) then goto BIOS settings to correct it.

Hope this helps
