I have a BEKO CDA539F and notice that there is one with an X attached to the end of the code that is amongst the recall models. I asssume that my fridge freezer is safe. Am I correct?

From what I understand, you are safe if your serial number does not match the ones in the list exactly. That said, the information I have is from knowledgeable sources but NOT from BEKO, who have failed to answer their 0800 incident line or reply to my mails for 4 days now (By coincidence, while I provide a lot of technical help on this forum, I also have a BEKO fridge that IS on the list).

I would go to their site and send in a mail via the facility they offer there. I imagine that at some stage you will get a confirmation that all is OK with your fridge, but I would want to cover the bases if I was in your position. For convenience, the original article I wrote with the BEKO website listed in it is reproduced here for you:

POTENTIAL BEKO REFRIGERATOR FIRE RISK AND RECALL NOTICE

I would normally give a pointer to articles I have already posted this response on, but as this is such a potentially serious matter, I have posted my entire response here for you.

According to several sources I have checked, including most importantly, BEKO's own website, the MODEL numbers (not serial numbers) affected by the recall are as follows:

CDA543FX
CA5411FFS
CDA752FS
CDA645FW
CA5411FFW
CDA752FW
CDA647FS
CA5411FFX
CDA752FX
CDA647FW
CA7014FFX
CS460FF
CDA648FS
CA7015FFS
CS460FFS
CDA648FW
CA7015FFW
CS460FFSD
CDA653FS
CA7015FFX
CS461FFW
CDA653FW
CDA539FS
CS461FFS
CDA653FX
CDA539FW
CSA4706FFX
CDA659FS
CDA539FX
CSB4606FFS
CDA751FS
CDA543FS
CSB4606FFSD
CDA751FX
CDA543FW
CSB4606FFW

The fridges affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006. After shipping and sitting around in shops, you can probably extend that margin to machines SOLD between 2000 and 2008. The first 2 digits of the serial numbers indicate the year of manufacture, so if your serial number doesn't start 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or 06 you don't even need to check.

If you go to the BEKO website, there is a link to check your serial number:

https://refsafety.beko.co.uk/

The site also provides a mail address and a UK Freefone number that you can call (Though I've tried the number and it keeps cutting me off!! I presume they are swamped with calls)

How can I Stop the bleeping on my CDA FW 381 freezer. It alarms for approx 30 seconds, but I dont think the temperature is rising. Can I isolate the alarm.

You need to use a thermometer to be sure but realize the alarm indicated a certain temperature point has reached or exceeded, not that the temperature is rising.

I have a beko fridge freezer. I had an error code

I got the answer myself and thought I would share it.
The E4 code means that the auto defrost is not working. Call beko and tell them the code and they will tell you what part it is. I think the part number is 421445. It is a little black tube with two wires comming out. The part costs about £10. To fit the part you have to go into the feezer side of the fridge and carefully remove the white plastic at the back which is held with clips and one screw. To find where the part goes look for a long white fatish wire. The black fuse or thermostate is hidden in that. You will see where the wires go when you remove the old one. It is easy to do. Once you replace the part the error light will still be on but will go out after the fridge is back to being cold. Don't forget to replace the inside of the freezer when done! Hope this helps. John

Whirlpool FUF20DPARWH Freezer

Was the door left open for a long period of time.? Sometimes this causes so much ice that it re freezes and can't clear the drain. The only solution is to unplug and let sit with doors open for at least 24 hours. to get all the ice off the coils. Then use a pipe cleaner on the drain then use a turkey baster to force water through. then a mild bleach solution. Check the door gaskets if they are ripped or loose or the door warped and not sealing tight this will also cause this problem. If this still doesn' t solve the problem it is probably a defrost problem Usually the timer or defrost thermostat.

BEKO FRIDGE FREEZER

The best way is open freezer door wait 30 seconds then shut if the door pulls shut further then machine is working if not not working.
