My dlink dsl-2540u router not connect to the internet. Dsl led blinking & sometimes totaly off.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the port on the DSL modem to the WAN/Internet port on the D-Link modem.

i have a small dought in dlink dsl 1504g lan extender
did i want to configure the lan extender

look at your dsl L.E.D
if the lights blinking, meaning there is a problem on the DSL line and you need to contact the service line provider to solve your DSL line.
(Good DSL line if the DSL L.E.D light is not blinking led (stable)

Make sure you download the correct firmware for you Hardware.
Usually you can login on your browser to you router and go to the management section to check for firmware updates and select that button and it will download and install the firmware. On some models, you have to go to the D-link web site and look for firmware updates for your router. Always check what you current firmware you have installed and check the version of you router modem hardware (A, B, C etc). Then you can manually download the firmware (usually in a ZIP file), open the zip file, and then using your browser connected to the router look for Update Firmware. You will have to go to where (folder) you saved the downloaded update and select that file. It is recommended that you update using a LAN connection and not a wireless connection.

what's your modem? if you have DSL, you might need to bridge it & set your DSL UN & PW on the router..

i have a dlink dsl2640u when i go in 192.168.1.1 and try to turn on the wireless and save it reboots 3 to 4 times then it stays on but the wireless is off any help

I found the solution for the speed problem.My isp use G.DMT so just put the tick on G.DMT and take out all tick on adsl, adsl+2 etc.

I would most likely check the following:
Replace the ADSL filters and make sure there is a filter connected to every port in the house regardless of where the router is.

Also try a factory reset of your Dlink, reset the device and try again.

Sounds like a line fault though, Dialing 154 from a BT land line will get you through to the fault management service, they can generally help from there.

Yes, you can use wireless router with the modem. I guess the actiontech DSl router that you have is also Wireless one. If so, you can use just the DSL router for wireless connection. If you really want to use Dlink router with it, Connect the ( WAN port ) of the Dlink router to the ( LAN Port ) of the Action tech modem [ modem(LAN)-->Dlink(WAN) ]. Once you do this connection, better to do power cycle ( unplug the pwr to the dlink first, then, disconnect the pwr to action tech - wait 1min and plug the pwr to modem, wait for DSL light to be solid , then put the pwr back to dlink ). Make sure DSL light on the modem solid, internet light & WLAN light on the link glowing.
- Make Hardwire connection between the computer to Dlink and check the ip address on the computer whether it acquires the ip address from Dlink and then check the internet connection on the computer, it has to work. if computer not getting ip from dlink, try restarting computer.
- If hardwire connection on the dlink works fine and check the wireless connection.
