I boaght 2 Leapster Explorers. One for my disabled daughter and one for my son. After many attempts to download the software I still don't have any software to even start up the device. My Internet is connected, however I get the below message trying to Install the Leapfrog Connect Application. LeapFrog Connect Application Error - Download not completed due to possible network disconnection. You can continue the download once the network is restored. I have a Toshiba Laptop and run Windows 7 on it.

There was a problem when I downloaded my free game onto my brand new leapster - and now I don't have it on my leapster and I can't choose it again to download

Instead of 1 starter game and a few demo game that you get from Leapfrog Connect, you can also get more downloadable games for your Leapster 2. You can get it here:

But you have to make sure your Leapster 2 have SD Card and your Leapster 2 can connect to PC using Leapfrog connect. Try to uninstall and re-install the LeapFrog Connect and wait until it finish configuring and updated the software both on the PC and the console, It may takes 10-20 mins for it to complete updating.

One more thing, you have to make sure that you get latest LeapFrog Connect software from LeapFrog website instead of installing it from supplied CD.

You need to re-connect your Leapster 2 to your PC. You have to make sure that the software is already updated both in the PC and in the console. Try to uninstall and re-install the LeapFrog Connect and wait until the software has been configured and update automatically which is until you see the status in LeapFrog Connect screen is "connected". You need to wait at least 10-20 mins for it to be completed I'm afraid.

One more thing, make sure you get the latest LeapFrog Connect Software from LeapFrog website instead of installing it from the supplied CD.

Try to uninstall and re-install the LeapFrog Connect. Make sure you got the latest software form Leapfrog Website instead of install it from the CD supplied from the original box.

You have to make sure that your Cartridges is clean. Try to vacum of blow both of the cartridge hole and also the place where you put the cartridge, Sometime very small tiny dirt will makes that the cartridge cannot be recognise by the console.

I managed to download only 2 games on my sons leapster2 handheld. How do I get the rest of them??

You actually can download all 4 starter games and 9 of mini demo games. But you need to have 4 Leapster 2 console to download each of the starter and some demo games and then combine the games in your PC. I just got mine here:

But I'm afraid it is not free. But it is cheaper rather than buying 4 leapster console and reconfigure it to combine the games :-)

Try using a smaller card. Their website says anything over 2Gig is not recommended.

Have you tried the alternative LeapFrog Connect Installer from the link below, although I suspect it could be a classic Windows 7 Driver problem.

Try this.

1. Launch the LeapFrog Connect application, power the Explorer on, and connect it to the computer with the USB cord.

2. Now open the device manager on the computer by clicking the Windows Start button, then typing devmgmt.msc into the search box, and hitting Enter.

3. Scroll down to "Network Adapters". If there is a "+" sign next to this, click on the "+" to expand.

4. Find the Leapster Explorer, which is called "LeapFrog USB LAN Adapter". It should be listed under Network Adapters. If not, it may also appear under the "Other Devices" category.

5. Right click the "LeapFrog USB LAN Adapter" and select Uninstall. Confirm the removal by clicking OK

6. The computer will take a moment to uninstall the device, when it is finished you will no longer see Leapfrog USB LAN Adapter listed in the Device Manager window

7. Disconnect your Leapster Explorer from the computer by removing the USB cable

8. Reconnect the Leapster Explorer to the computer, the driver will automatically reinstall

Hi,
This issue is most probably being caused by an intermittent disconnection from the requesting host (your computer) to the file file server (website). You can either use a download manager to download your files so even if the "request" disconnects, the download manager can manage to resume the download once the connection gets back.
You can get a free download manager here: FlashGet Download Link
Click on "download the latest version" on the right hand side and install the software. Download the LeapFrog application using FlashGet.
