Hi AJ,
This is not a hardware related issue. I most probably is related to the operating system. Once the computer is loading up the kernel files and advanced drivers and applications on your computer, it freezes up. To further isolate this, you need to boot the computer to safe mode.
Booting to Safe Mode:
1. Turn the computer on. Start tapping on F8 as the computer is loading up.
2. You should be able to see a black screen with options on it. It is the Advanced Boot Options.
3. Choose Safe mode or safe mode with networking.
In Safe mode, open the system configuration utility.
1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Type msconfig then click on ok
3. Click on the startup tab
4. Click on the disable all located on the bottom
5. Click apply and then ok
6. Restart your computer to normal mode.
If this works you are not done yet. You need to open the system configuration utility and check on the items under the start up tab one by one. You need to find our what program there is causing the computer not to load up. Once identified, You need to uninstall it from your system and your problem is resolved.
