RIC instruments are quite delicate, the receivers often fail, however it is a quick fix to replace them. Have you tried a drying kit, a drying kit is essential to maintain RIC or RITE instruments particularly during the summer months. Go back, get the receivers changed and ask for a drying kit.

How do I answer phone from my hearing aids

Hello, James -

It will help in answering to know the make and model of your phone (cell phone?, land line?) and to know the make and model of your hearing aids.

You can choose Comment and type the additional information there.

I suggest you contact the hearing aid business from which you purchased your hearing aids and ask for instruction on what you need to do regarding phone answering and the phones you use on a regular basis.

Best wishes.

General Care Of Your Hearing Aide(s)

Hearing aides are quite expensive. Taking care of them is a wise decision. If you do not keep them clean you will lose the quality of hearing you were used to when you got them. Taking a few minutes once or twice a month to sit down and clean them will keep them in good shape and your hearing ability top notch. Most hearing aides come with a small brush and usually a small wire instrument. First of all open your battery compartment and remove battery so it isn't squealing at you while you are cleaning. Take the small wire instrument and reach in a far as you can without damaging the tubes in your hearing aide, and scoop out any and all wax that you can. Take the brush and brush out the wax on the wire instrument. Continue scooping the wax ot of all the tubes until you are finished. If there is a lot of wax remaining that you could not reach, you must take them back to where you purchased them so they can finish cleaning them for you and perhaps show you a trick or two in the care of them. Many places will also remove the wax build-up in your ears for you at no charge. With just a few minutes of your time each month to keep them clean they will give you good service for years to come.

If indeed you are, you need to take them back to the Audi, he will need to assess whether the receivers have failed or if for some reason the instruments have failed.

Trying to find the manufacturer of My Sonar hearing aid. On the box it says 3m Tecnology but not who makes it. Are they still in business? Thank You.

Sonar was a 3M spin off. Sonar was then purchased and merged with Resound Hearing Aids out of California. Sonar was officially closed in 2008/2009. I would contact ReSound Hearing Aids and see if they can fix it.
