My Ryobi CS30 Weed Eater has a problem. It starts OK and the shaft starts turning, but after about 30 seconds of use, the shaft stops spinning, rendering the whole thing useless. I've taken the head off and run the thing to attempt to locate the problem. The shaft stops spinning without the head as well, so my guess is it's the shft. Please help.

May also be the clutch, in the drive section up by the motor. You will have to take it apart to inspect it

My Ryobi cs30 weed eater tends to shut off after I release the throttle.

Find the idle speed screw (not the jet screw) and turn it CW until the engine idles without dying. If too high, the string head will turn all the time. Hope this helps

Ryobi weed eater head won't spin

Sounds like the clutch has taken a long trip south. If the clutch pads are not wore out, try some wd40 on the pad hinges.

Have a Ryobi CS30 Weedeater, will not start, it is about a year old, did not see a spark, just bought new plug.

If you still don't have a spark with the new plug, then you may have a kill switch wire grounding the motor, keeping it from starting. If it's not that, then you have a bad ignition module (coil).

Do you use mixed gas for a ryobi weed eater??

Unless it has a tag or decal on it saying it is a 4 cycle then it uses mixed gas/oil at about a 50:1 ratio. Straight gasoline will freeze the piston in the cylinder in mere minutes.

Replace pull cord on ryobi model cs30 weed wacker

Good fix, mrfixit-jerr! Also, if you remove the rear cover (4 screws) you can stabilize the crankshaft by inserting a screwdriver between the lobe of the shaft and the counterweight.
