I have a 8180c and it wont print word documents

Are you using 3rd party cartridge or OEM replace the cartridge with OEM. Which cartridge does it say to check does your machine, have separate drum and toner cart. replace the right one.

got to control panel in computer , open up printers and faxes and clock on the printer. open up jobs in progress and if there is still something to be printed, delete it and go back to the print document and redo it.

Is it a white or black line?There can be a piece of paper in the drum cartridge or the drum is damaged!Scratched!Try replacing the drum cartridge!Good Luck!

maybe your printer setting is only for internet articles.

If when you attempt to print only with the black cartridge installed but it won't print, then this specific printer requires that color ink also be installed. Typical with most inkjets.

If this was the case all the time, I would imagine you have an incorrect driver in the Laser Printer. You should be able to upgrade the drivers by contacting the the Canon Co.
If this is a new problem the static bar that runs across the drum has lost it's positive charge to produce the picture should be replaced ... its not cheap !

I have a Canon Color Image Class MF 8180C with a system error code E078 - Trying to understand what it means and how to clear. Any ideas?

Delete document manually from the path mentioned below:

1) Press windows + R an then type spool
2) Go to PRINTERS folder.
3) Delete the files present in there.

If not able to delete then
1) Open command prompt.
2) type "net stop spooler" and then delete the files
3)Again type "net start spooler"

Your stuck document is now cleaned. You can start printing your document again.

problem is, the toolbox utility (scanning) from canon is not recognizing my 8180c, even though i just dwnd fresh driver from canon for local printer. (toolbox is a wired utility.) so no answer, just bewilderment. used to work!..
