Question about Protron PLTV-32 Television

2 Answers

Power Supply I checked the ceramic fuse after the switch assembly and that was fine. The I/O switch itself was tested to be ok also. Everything I'm reading points to the power supply? Is this correct and if so, where can I order one for Protron??

I was being honest, thank you for trying...I did not know they were bankrupt.... It isn't helpful to me, because it does not solve my problem..... if you said, they are out of business but you might want to try company xyz, then I would say that is helpful.... once again, thanks for trying

I had a pwer supply for my Protron 32 inch TV that was not working. I bought the one on ebay and it stopped working after only three weeks. Ultimately I found a guy who could fix my original power supply for a reasonable price. It been working for a year now with no problems. I wish I would have tried him first!!!! If anyone is interested his email is dave@thola.com.

Proton has declared bankrupcy and is no longer issueing, honoring, or providing service in anyway shape or form. People that have sent in their TV for service will be lucky to get the broken TV back.

The old saying you are SOL seems to apply here.

The rating thanks for trying is not accurate. Please rerate this or I will report this as abuse. Protron is out of business and has declared bankrupcy. What more do you want?

Low beam headlights do not work

You have a continuity problem between the hot wire going into your headlight switch and the point where the wiring to the two lights separates, which will be very close to one of the lights. Now, it could be a whole lot of things between those two points, but it is guaranteed to be one of five general categories: both lights are burned out, a fuse is blown, the switch has failed, a wire is broken, or a connector isn't working.
Check fuses and lamps first. If it isn't them then the next easiest one is that one of the wire assembly connectors, probably under the hood, is either a little loose or slight corroded. The way to check that is to unsnap each connector, look for corrosion, clean if necessary, and then put it back together. Now, the wire issue and the switch issue are much more difficult, as they pretty much require you to have some special tools and advanced mechanical skills to run down. If that's you, ok, I'll tell you how to proceed. If that is not you, take it to a dealer for that brand of car or an auto electric shop. If you have the skills, then get yourself a text light on some alligator clips. Having about three feet of wire on each lead is handy. Then start at either the switch end or the light end of the wire assembly open connectors with the lights on, and test to see if you can get your test light to come on. This will go a whole lot faster if you have the wiring diagram for you car and you can quickly identify each pin assignment in the connectors. This series of tests will let you home in on where the break in continuity happens to be located.

No power on windshield motor

Please check whether there is power on incoming point on wiper switch. Now on the switch & check the out point of the switch. If ok check the wire leading to the wiper by conecting a seperate wire outside from switch to wiper motor..Finally check by direct connection from battery to motor. You should check the relavent fuse 1st thing before all these tests.

Not certain about the fuse - likely that there would be 2 seperate fuses.
I would suspect the wiring under the seat or under the mat leading to it, check the clip under seat, take it apart and check for voltage going to the seat, or very little resistance in the element in the seat your reading should almost goto zero showing either a short or the element being good!
eg., an ohm meter will tell you if the element is broken with no reading but you wouldn't be able to tell if the element or wire was shorted unless it was blowing fuses as the reading would be the same, or very close to same, going to zero! If no reading, the wire from that point on is broken or the element itself.
I would suspect the switch could be bad also which could be traced back or removed and tested the same way, testing the contacts on the switch for continuity or voltage through the switch contacts

If the washer won't start, the user control and display board may be defective. Check for power to the washer first.

If the washer won't start the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.

If the washer won't start the line fuse might have blown.

If the washer won't start the thermal fuse may have blown. It can be tested for continuity. Watch our fuse testing video for more information.

If the washer won't start the line fuse might have blown, or the line fuse holder might be damaged and need to be replaced.

If the washer won't start the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other parts and causes first.

If the washer won't start the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design

If the washer won't start the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

If the washer won't start check to see if there is power at the electrical outlet which the washer is plugged into. Plug a lamp or radio into the outlet to check it. If the outlet is dead, check the circuit breakers or fuses for the home.

If the washer won't start, check to be sure there is power to the electrical outlet for the home. If that is OK, the power cord itself might be defective. This is rare. You can check the power cord with an Ohm meter for continuity.

Stop Lamp Circuit Description
The STOP HAZ fuse in the IP junction block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to the center mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) and both left and right stop lamp assemblies. The left stop lamp is grounded at G304 and the right stop lamp is grounded at G304.

CTD85 tumble dryer: power is getting through to the machine but absolutely nothing happens

Hi.

If there is power then the door switch is probably broken. first make sure that there is power to the machine. The door switch is tested with power off, accessing switch contacts and reading Ohms with a multimeter. When door is closed the switch must have continuity, reading zero or few Ohms. With door open the switch contacts read infinity (circuit open).

If the door switch is OK, test power cord, main switch, wiring harness, motor and timer.

Here diagrams. Click on the pictures to enlarge:

Hi.

Be sure that you have checked the thermal fuse. The part is tested using a multimeter set on Ohms (impedance). Remove the fuse from dryer and read impedance touching the fuse contacts with the two multimeter probes. If impedance is Ohm infinity (open), then the fuse is bad.

If the fuse is OK because tested good or replaced, then the problem is either one of the three thermostats located in the heating group, or the heating element. All parts are tested similarly to what described for the thermal fuse. If any of the parts read open (infinity), then the part is faulty. After finding the defective part remove all the lint from heating assembly and air duct. The lint causes overheating and blows thermostats, fuse or element.

Regards.

Wipers stpoed working the fuse is fine. the heater fan stoped at same time that fuse is fine.so what do i do?

Using the test points on the back side of the fuse check and see if there is power on either side of the fuses. If there is no power going to the fuse, your igntion switch is bad most likely. The ignition switch itself is located on the steering column down by your feet.

in most cases the reason for microwaves shutting down without warning is the fuse. in some cases the fuse will fail at its own fault. to test the fault we would do a tollerence test on the unit. but the best way for you to test it is to replace the ceramic fuse with another of the same value. if the unit works then its a faulty fuse. if the unit blows the fuse then the unit has a fault in the power supply that needs to be repaired by a service tech.

Check the harness connectors under the seats at the front).
Are you sure that the fuses are OK? Sometimes they can visually appear OK but may still be knackered; try a continuity test.
When my mirrors packed up I disassembled the toggle switch, cleaned everything and they were fine after.
Given the seemingly unrelated items I'm wondering if you have a dodgy common earth point somewhere.
