Hi... I have a new LG D/w that occasionally leaks at the front when the wash cycle operates. I have had 2 repairmen in and both cannot find any problems. One guy indicated I should not use jet dry and the other was perplexed. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Those dishwashers have a very poor system of gasketing to keep the water inside...
Sometimes replacing the gasket in the door can help, but even so it can be a problem... if the gasket does not seat just right the door will leak...

There are a lot of great features with those dishwashers, but the weak point on them is the door seal..

PFE28KSKNSS he profile refrigerator, water leaked inside between inside wall and filter housing wall while dispensing the filter. Is there is service manual showing how to remove filter housing?

If your fridge is still under warranty call the maker. They wont charge you for parts but they will not pay for labor or service charges. We had an lg that went bad the company made us pay 3 lg certified repairmen to all come and give same diagnosis each at $80. After shelling out $240 they begrudgingly cut us a check for $850 after paying $1200.00 plus installation and water and ice maker costs plus ice maker kit another $100 plus which lg would not honor nor did lg include the $240 in diagnosis by 3 lg certified repairmen oh and one of the repairmen knew what was wrong with it within 5 mjnutss but Lg refused to accept the diagnosis because he did not have an Lg certification number even though his diagnosis was exactly what the 2 other repairmen had said i was still required to hire yet another lg repairman so it cost me additional $80. So i paid $320 in repair diagnosis to get a check refund of only $850...$530 was all i was really refunded to purchase a new refrigerator original costs $1200 plus tax they don't count $150 installation of water line ice maker. And $320 mandatory diagnostics reports before any money is refunded and they take back refrigerator.

Leaking water from my lg front loader during washing cycle- wm2487hrm

Hi,

The problem is due to the rubber boot is been torn that is causing you the leak. You have to check the rubber boot for leaks by removing the clamp assembly that secures the rubber boot to the outer lip of the door opening. Peel off the rubber boot then inspect it for any holes where it may be leaking. The rubber boot in your washer can be accessed only when you remove the front panel. This requires the removal first of the top panel then the console. Also check your inlet hoses on the outside of machine, also check the connections inside the panel in back.

Thank you !!

Water leaking bottom front door

Check out the front seal carefully for a replacement. Due to the flexibility of the seal, it is not to easy to spot a tear mark, Under pressure of an operation load, a small tear will allow water leaking through, so there is a leak. It is very common that a hard sharp object left inside clothing and during washing cycle, it makes its way to the seal and cause a damage. Hope this can help.

Our LG LDF7920st dishwasher (6 months old)makes a whistling noise

Hey, consider the float assembly!

We bought this dishwasher and ran it for the last 1 1/2 months and it made a grinding and whistling sound from day one (it's supposed to be nearly silent in its operation). Turns out the drain pump was cutting in while the machine was still filling, thereby emptying the wash tub of any water. Then, when the cycle proceeded to wash, the dumb thing had no water and made a horrible noise. So I had to pitch in at least 2-3 litres of hot water, and then it worked quietly! Had to do this every time there was new water intake.

After working with the repairmen - four visits later, we isolated the float assembly as the problem and they set about replacing the part. Turns out the two parts were markedly different. LG HAD INSTALLED an older model float assembly at the factory and it was the problem. The replacement part was the correct float assembly and things worked perfectly after that - thank goodness. No more babysitting the dishwasher.

Don't let anyone tell you the motor assembly needs replacement. I have seen that cop-out 'fix' all over the web. But use deductive reasoning to find out where the problem is in the cycle, and explore this option first - it's a quicker and cheaper fix than replacing the whole motor assembly.

'Mr. Float' as he is now called works like this:
-expels any residual water in the tub from the last wash
-intakes water for the wash or rinse
-whirs 2-3 times prepping for the cycle
-begins to wash, quietly
-expels at the end of the wash or rinse.

He used to:
-expel residual water
-intake new water for wash or rinse
---drain pump would cut in WHILE still filling
-machine would whir once, realize it didn't have enough water
-perform a brief top-up intake shot
-begin to wash and whistle and GRIND (this is where I would have to add the water)
-expels water from wash or rinse, and start all over again.

It's a good dishwasher and it will work, but the right model parts have to be in place!
