Olympus recorder VN-5200pc, cracked screen, I am able to see the files on the PC and have played one on the recorder, but they are unable to be transferred over to my desktop via drag and paste, or send to desktop. additional getting these error messages: An Unexpected error is preventing the operation. From what we got here is your Olympus record will need to be recovered. Thus I recommend the following software.

Depending on the recorders condition this product will attempt to fix and recover the drive. We at Fixya cannot Guarantee any product because we do not know what condition the recorder is in since it was ran over by a SUV

if the recorder has communication issues over the usb port this could hamper the recover process so keep that in mind.

How to remove the write protection from olympus voice recorder
The DS4000 has a lock option available from the menu. press the menu and scroll untill you find lock. If you did not prposely lock the file, most likely the files on the memory card are corrupt. You will need to reformat the memory. The format option is in the menu as well.

Can not find recordings on digital recorder using vista 64 byte system. system will pick up the recorder, I can open Digitl wave player but the are no recordings showing up to transfer.
Unfortunately the VN-4100PC is not compatible with a Vista 64 bit operating system. It will only work with a 32 bit operating system of Vista. You may want to call Olympus customer service and see if they can do an exchange for you to a VN-3200PC or a VN-5200PC as these recorders are both 64 bit compatible. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3. They are open from 8:30 am - 7pm EST.
