CAN'T DELETE EXISTING MUSIC FILES TO CREATE ROOM FOR NEW MUSIC FILES

FOR SOME REASON, I CAN'T DELETE EXISTING MUSIC FROM MY SANSA e200R. I OPEN THE FOLDER TO VIEW FILES AND ABOUT 10-15 SONGS WERE VISIBLE. I DELETED THOSE, BUT THE REST ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE. I EVEN TRIED FROM THE MEDIA PLAYER IN THE SUB-MENU WHILE IT IS PLAYING, BUT NO COMMAND TO DELETE THAT PARTICULAR SONG SHOWS UP. ANY TIPS? THANKS, JAMES.

Don't do either of those because you will delete all stored information. You should actually go to computer then folder options and check unhide hidden folders and files.

Ouch! The solution I just found DID reformat and it DID clear off the files that I could not erase. But it took away the version info, so now the updater (http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe) does not work and while the files I could not erase are gone and the 250e is nice and clean, will I need the updater in the future and be unable to use it?

How to delete songs from my Sansa m250?

When you connect the MP3 player to yourcomputer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as anexternal storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder onyour MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the playerexactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. Toorganise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album andplace the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from thecomputer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music albumfolder. To delete a filefrom your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and thenplug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view thefiles, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and thenpress the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player.

Deleting Music Files On Your Sansa MP3 Player

When your player is connected to your computer with the USBconnector, you can use your computer file browser software to view all files onyour player. Your player will appear as Sansa m230 or m240. Follow these steps:
Use the USB connector cable provided with your player to connectthe USB port on the top of your player to an open USB port on your computer. Theplayer will appear as a Windows Portable Device on your computer. (Can't findthe USB Port on your player? See The Basic Controls.)
Delete your music files to the player with software tools likeRhapsody, Windows Media Player or Napster Client.
To use the Windows Media Player, Rhapsody Client or Napster Clientsoftware to delete files to your player please refer to the Windows MediaPlayer, Rhapsody Client or Napster Client help file.

NOTE: While you canstore and organize your audio files on your player using folders with names youselect, your player will ignore folders and names. I want to erase every thing off my sansa

Ok, plug it in your computer, open "My Computer," open up your Sansa, open up the file named "Music," select all the files, right click them and click delete. Now go to the Recycling Bin and delete all the music files that were on your Sansa. Sometimes the Sansa doesn't realize that files are gone until you delete them from the Recycling Bin, crazy I know, but it's true.
Hope it helps!

Deleting videos off Sansa e200R

There is no such thing as a stupid question. Plug Sansa as you normally do. Go to My Computer, and click on the removable drive that holds your Sansa's data. If you don't see the video folder that means it's invisible. To make your invisible folder visible click on Tools on the top of your window. From there select Folder Options... A new window should open up and click on the View tab on new window. Look for Hidden Files and Folders on this list and select Show Hidden Files and Folders. You should be able to see your Video folder now, and the rest is up to you. Good Luck!!!
