Follow the steps given below.

1) First, check your hard disk cable, I recommend you to replace the Hard Disk Cable.
2) If the BIOS doesn't detect your Hard Disk after replacing Hard Disk cable try upgrading your BIOS from the Dell website.

Try to install a window 7 on a gatewaydx4870 I cant find the hard drive driver not found

If you are just trying to install from a bootable Windows 7 disk, the BIOS itself provides the basic hard drive driver, otherwise the system would never be able to load an Operating System. Now what you are probably experiencing is that the system cannot find the hard drive itself to begin the installation process. You need a hard drive in order for the system to load the files for the OS. When booting, press whatever key(s) is/are required to access the CMOS (BIOS). Look in the general information area to ensure that a hard drive has been detected by the BIOS. If one has not been detected, shut down the PC, then check the power cable and data cable connections of the hard drive to the power supply and mainboard, and then power up and check the BIOS again. If you still do not see a hard drive detected, should also look in the advanced settings area to ensure that the SATA port where the HDD data cable is connected to ensure that it is enabled and has not been disabled in the BIOS. If, after all that, you reboot and the drive is still not detected, then you have either a defective hard drive or mainboard. If the hard drive is showing in the general area of the BIOS, then look in the boot order/boot sequence area to ensure that the hard drive is included in the boot sequence. It should normally be the second boot device, with the optical disk drive being the first in the order.

Blinking courser when start my pc and continue blinking then esc courser will stop blinking but after some time again blinking courser

Pls check if the Hard drive is detected in BIOS.
If Yes, then run a test on the Hard drive.
If the test fails, the drive has to be replaced.
If the test passes, then load the BIOS defaults and check if the comp boots to windows.
If it still doesnt boot, then you will need to reinstall the OS from the OS disks.

Media test failure check cable PXE-MOF exiting broadcom PXE-ROM operating system not found

system is trying to boot to a network, this is most likely due to the hard disk drive not being detected, or the windows operating system is missing.
First reset the BIOS defaults, see if the system detects the HDD in the bios and will now boot.

Run diagnostics on the hard disk drive, which I suspect it will fail.
If diags on the drive pass, they try reinstalling Windows. But I expect you'll be replacing the drive.

My Dell Latitude will not boot. it says no hard disk detected.

The first thing to do is go into the bios. To do this, power up the laptop and hit F2 at start up. Sometimes it requires hitting the F2 button numerous times. You should see message in the top right corner that says "Entering Set Up". Once in the bios screen, look through menu to see if your hard drive is recognized by the bios. If it is not recognized by the bios, it may be a defective hard drive or problem with the motherboard. You might also try removing the hard drive and checking for any problems with the connector then reinstalling the hard drive and trying to boot up again. If this does not work, I would recommend replacing the hard drive.

After windows sp2 update

0141 error is no hard drive detected. So boot to the BIOS F2 at boot and ensure that the BIOS is seeing the hard disk drive. If it is not, then reseat the drive/drive cable connections and try again. If the drive is detected in bios, then try booting to WIndows, if HDD never is detected, reset bios defaults and reboot, and see if it detects, if still not detected, replace the hard disk drive

Compaq presario v3000 laptop..doesnt recongize the hard drive

I beleive that you are trying to install retail versions of XP which will not be able to detect the Hard Drive in the Notebook as it is a SATA drive and Windows XP will not be having the drivers for SATA Hard Drives by default.
In this situation, I recommend you to check and disable the SATA Native support  option available in the BIOS.
Start the Notebook and start tapping the F10 key which will take you to to the BIOS Setup window.
In this, go to the System Configuration tab using the Arrow keys and select the option as Disabled next to SATA Native Support.
Press the F10 key again to save the settings done and exit BIOS.
Now, you should be able to use the Windows XP disk and install Windows XP Operating System in your Notebook without any issues.
By disabling the SATA Native Feature, the Hard Drive of the Notebook will be detected as a IDE Drive because of which we will be able to install XP without any issues.

Donot Re-Enable this feature in the BIOS again as the Operating System may not boot. Let the option next to SATA Native Support be Disabled.
Hope this helps...
