Sony rm ss251

As all other buttons works properly except Volum Dn, the problem is with the remote control itself. Clean the remote control and check. To clean it, you have to open the remote control. If it too doesn't help you, buy one original remote control from the authorized service center for Sony. No universal remote control will go properly with Sony TVs. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

When i use the volume button on the remote a yellow icon comes up and i cant change the volume, help please

You may have the FIXED VOLUME LEVEL feature enabled in the AUDIO OPTIONS section of your TV's menu. You should be able to disable it from that menu as well if necessary.

This feature is often used when you are sending the audio signal out the rear audio output connectors of the TV to a stereo or home theatre system amplifier. That way you hear the TV audio through the stereo's large speakers instead of the small TV speakers. Then to raise the volume of the TV audio, you simply adjusting the volume of the stereo with the stereo remote instead of using the TV remote.

If the channel selector does not work either, then it's possible that you may have the CHILD LOCK feature engaged. See you owner's manual for instructions on how to disable the CHILD LOCK.

Good luck, I hope this was helpful.

I have a Dynex Flat Pannel TV with a DVD player in the TV. I have it hooked up to my HD line coming into the house. My question is: Is there a way to hook speparate speakers from the TV and by-pas the...

Yes you can provided your tv-has a headphone jack. Just plug in any regular computer speakers or the like into the headphones jack and the audio output would be switched to external speakers automatically. On the contrary if your tv does not have a headphone jack then you will need to obtain a home-theatre system and connect the stereo audio out ports to the audio in of the home theatre system. They have become very affordable these days and I have seen a Philips home theatre system(2.1) starting at around 120$.

A new LCD TV has expansion sound capabilities requiring adjustment to acheive viewer experience. First, the TVs default sound is what is heard soon as the powered on. Is my tv audio doomed or will the home theatre system work anyways.

some devices these days have a built in volume control, try using your remote for which ever dvd player or satalite bix you use, on push the volume up button on it while you have the volume on the tv maxed out so that you will be able to tell a defference if it works or not.

Tv speakers

Sounds like you have a home theatre system, and you need to run rca cables from audio out of the tv to audio in on the amp, and turn the speakers off in the tv menu and set audio out to fixed or turn tv volume up all the way to get enough audio siginal.

Home theatre but TV without audio outlet

I would suggest that you smash
Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
