My lg vu sim card reader aint working can you help me out?

if you are trying to use the phone with a sim card that you dont usually use with that phone it is most likely locked to another phone take it to your service provider and ask them to unlock it to use on your lg vu . If its your regular sim card then sim card reader is malfunctioning . you will need to have it fixed

it wont work with boost since its a iden sim for boost and for at&t is gsm

Try getting your sim card changed or the sim card reader in your phone fixed

Yes it should if the LG mobile phone is unlocked. If not, when you insert the Boost SIM card in the LG it will ask for a Secutity Code.
If the SIM card won't work in the LG, please get back to me.

I've dealt with this issue ever since I bought this phone - and would rather throw it across the room and watch it burst into 1,000 pieces than have to see the error pop up again. All I did was cut out about 1-inch by1/4" inch strip from a postcard - or any heavy weight paper. In other words, not cardboard, but not copy paper. More like the weight of a vhs cover box, cereal box, etc. I inserted one end of the strip above the sim card and below the phone shell (over the part of the sim card that's not showing); and folded the rest of the paper strip (might have to tear some off) to be double ply above the part of the sim card that is showing. Put on the cover; you should have to press firmly to get it to fit on and smash the double-ply strip down. Make sure the double ply is only over the sim card, not any over the battery. This worked for me!

actually if you are going to use att's prepaid service, you can just insert that sim card in your lg vu.

This happened to me too. A temporary fix is turn off your phone and put it in front of a really cold air conditioner for about ten minutes. Then turn it on but make sure you keep it in front of the ac to keep it working. What happened is your sim card reader has a thermal problem so you will need to take it in unless you want to spend all your time in front of the ac (which will get expensive...)

A PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) is the code required for enabling/unlocking a sim card. This disabling/lock is a result of erroneously entering the PIN (Personal Identification Number) multiple times. Depending on the SIM card issuer, erroneously entering the PUK code multiple times would result to a permanently blocked/disabled SIM card. The PUK code is an OTW (one time write) only and therefore the only way to open the card is with the PUK code.

In all instances, it has nothing to do with the phone itself but with the SIM card, hence, the LG Vu CU920 would still work with another SIM card.

i just got mine and noticed the sim card can go in upside down. the same thing happened when i put mine in. try putting the sim card in different ways

The sim card goes in the other way. The cut should be on the bottom left facing up. Try it and see if it works.
