hi, the camera must also be giving a lens error and must be making a whirring sound when turned on, hold the camera with camera off bang it with flat of hand , a few times , if this does not work , repeat it with camera on, even if this does not, when turning the camera on gently apply pressure on the front of the lens, do this just once , all the above fails , camera has to be service , lens unit may have to be changed
Probably the lens is not the right circumstance and needed repair from you. Check your lens, if you are able to disassemble and assemble back your digital camera. If you can't, take it to the service center.
Hi Most proberly the batery is shot. It wil be fully charged but it does not have "the amps" in this case miliamps to do the job. Pushing out the lens uses alot of the amps "miliamps" and the fact that it can't even rectract the lens back is a sure sign. If possible take the camera to a digital shop and test it with a known good batery!

I had the same problem. All I did was hold the lens out when it tun so that when it shuts off, the lens is still out. Then I moved it around a bit. Something was stuck in the lens and when I moved the lens around, it came out. So now it functions normally :] I hope I helped!
Your camera has it own doctor built in, if it sees an internal error it will shut down. When a camera turns on it goes through a series of tests, if one of these test fails your camera records an error. If the lens is moving in and out your camera is trying to get the lens to function. As such you have a faulty camera.
I had the same exact problem. When the camera turns on and then lens extends, hold the lens out while the camera shuts off. Then sort of move it around a bit. I did this and when I turned it on, it was fixed. I guess something was jammed in the lens.
If the lens does not extend then it is possible that it has become jammed. Somtimes this can cause the camera to sense an error and shut itself down immediately after powering on. There are other explanations for the behavior, but if the lens does not move this is the most likely cause. If the lens does extend but then the camera shuts right back off it is possible that an inner component such as the focusing element is not functioning properly.
When a camera comes on and then turns right back off it is generally due to some failure in its self-check at power on. Most of these failures come from the lens due to the fact that it contains most of the moving parts.
Check with your manufacturer for warranty support or recalls. Failing that you can find an online repair provider who can fix your camera.
