I've had my Taylor T3 for over two years with no problems. Done a lot of gigging with it as my main axe. Just got off the road and discovered a major problem: the volume on my neck pickup is drastically cut. Bridge pickup not affected. Since the volume comes on a little, I think it may be that the wiring to one of the two neck pickup arrays has failed. Any comments?

More likely a failed selector switch. Try working it back and forth a few dozen times. Contact cleaner may be tried too, squirting in the back of the switch.

I just bought a used Fender Stratacoustic, and it has a bad ground, (while plugged in of course). If I touch the metal piece on the end of the cable that it is plugged into, all ground noise stops. Is...

Taylor make a factory solution for this issue- you basically need a metal strip located where the ball ends of the strings anchor, and a wire running from that to the ground on the output jack. The Taylor piece is about 25.00, but is only good for pins that are in a straight line, not the "vee" shape of some of the Stratacoustics. I have made my own version through the years, using thin piece of metal, holes drilled to match the alignment of the bridge pin holes, held inside in line with the bridge pin holes by two-faced carpet tape (the thin kind)...with a wire soldered to it that is then run to the ground tab on the output jack. Then any time you touch the strings, you ground the guitar. This is usually a problem caused by the ground attachment on the under-saddle pickup, btw, right where the wire joins the pickup under the saddle.

I've only had my 714ce for about 5 weeks. I've used it for 4 shows and during my last show I experienced a volume drop. I unplugged the jack, plugged it back in and it was fine for a bit, bu

It's most likely the battery isn't producing enough voltage, though it may have been adequate for your other guitar.
However, you should discuss the issue asap with your dealer and/or Taylor support.

I have a Kurzweil PC2x Keyboard that periodically resets itself to factory presets, purging all user data. I believe it has always done this. (I've owned it for years) Any suggestions?

There could be several reasons for your Kurzweil PC2x keyboard resetting to factory presets and purging all user data. It is possible that there is an issue with the keyboard's internal memory, or there may be a problem with the battery or power supply. Another possibility is that there is a software issue with the keyboard, such as a bug or a conflict with other devices or software. In order to troubleshoot the problem, you could try resetting the keyboard to factory settings and then reloading your user data to see if that resolves the issue. You could also try using a different power source or battery to see if that makes a difference.

Need repairs on Technics SX-PX103-M Model.

Have you had any luck with your Technics piano? I've got the same piano and Mine does not work either. No lights on the control panel, only red power light comes on. Does yours have any led lights besides the power light that come on? I've investigated and I have learned a lot from this piano. 4 main boards. Im pretty sure I've got it down to one board. Interested in selling me any boards from your Piano??

My guitar amplifier cuts out at any volume..

Symptoms that take a while to happen often are caused by something getting hot. Open it up and try to find something getting hot. That probably won't be the faulty component but it will point to the area that's causing the problem.
BE CAREFUL INSIDE A TUBE AMP! THERE'S A LOT OF HIGH VOLTAGE IN THERE. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING METAL.

After a gig last night we tried our Marshall JCM 2000 DSL401and it had developed two noises without anything plugged in. The first is a transformer hum that I'd never noticed before and when standby is...

Likely the filter capacitors have a problem. Best to take this in for repair... it is ODD that there is noise with the standby switch is in standby... That makes no sense... In standby it appears that power is removed from the power amp high voltage so nothing should come through the speaker... Unles maybe one off the power tubes had a total meltdown which should have blown the fuse.

I have played a Taylor 510 for about 20 years and I need to send back to Taylor for some need repairs. I know it will take 3-6 months to get it back and I am thinking about buying a Takamine ESN10c to use...

My son has a Takamine acoustic/electric. He plays in a band an is very accomplished. He and I both like the Takamine. He had a Fender acoustic/electric and sold it to keep the Tak. I have a hand made acoustic that I play at church. I like his Taka better. And I'm sure it's cheaper than another Taylor. The Tak. doesn't compare to the Taylor but it is a nice guitar and the electronics are good. One guy's opinion.

Thanks for using FixYa.
