I am having problems with my Mac power adapter A1172. There appears to be a loose wire near where the cord goes into the adapter box. Can I pry the adapter box open?? I was planning to cut the wire, but the short seems very close to the box and I do not know if I will have enough wire to make a new connection without opening the adapter box? Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance. Paul

I had the same problem. Pried the box open to reconnect the wire. Used a heavy rubber band to hold it closed afterward. Didn't want to glue it in case I had to open it again.

What kind of battery does the powerpro quipp 300a have

most battery jumps starters I have used use a gell cell 12v battery depending on size of box (space available) . jump starter box has either 1 or 2 or more X12v 17ah battery sometimes they are 12v 20ah .if 2 or more batteries they are wired in parallel to achive higher starter current . I start a 2.7 diesel with one that only has 1X12v 17 ah gell cell.If you open box up it will be obvious what battery (s) it uses.

Have acer one message says to plug into ac adapter

Check the AC adapter and power cord. It sounds as if either one end of the cord near the transformer box is loose, or the end that plugs into the computer is loose/not connecting properly.
Failing that, make sure the wall socket you have the cord plugged into has power (try plugging something else into it). If everything I mentioned checks out, there could be something wrong with your battery.

Power is not comming into the printer

No power to the printer. 1) Either the power adapter is not connected properly.Remove the power cord from main power outlet and connect it to any other electric outlet. Also at the back of the printer there is a socket where the power got get connected.Remove power wire from there too and reconnect it. 2) If the problem is not solved then there are two possibilities:-- A) The power cord is faulty and needs replacement. B) Or the printer circuit board is got short and it has to be replaced. ------------ In both the cases A as well as B you need to get the fault checked by other spare power adapter or power supply board in printer. At local printer repair shops they have this parts in spare. They will get the fault checked and let you know that which part has to be replaced.Either the power adapter or power supply board. The cost of new power adapter is near to $10 and cost of new power supply board is near to $40. -------------- One more thing i want you to check is.In your printer power adapter there is one three pin power wire is connected. That three pin power wire wire goes from main power outlet to the printer adapter. In some cases that three pin power adapter gets faulty. If that three pin power wire is faulty then the cost of that power wire is just $2.So get that three pin power wire also checked. To see how this three pin power wire looks.See the fig below:--- helpmech_1.jpg
If this wire is faulty then its not much costly. ----------- This are all the possibilities that you will have to get checked. To get the fault confirmed.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have no power on my laptop but cord works on another mac so it doesn't appear to be the cord

WIthout knowing the models of Mac and AC adapter, I can't give you as much help as I would like. Apple AC adapters come in many power ranges (40W, 60W, 80W, etc.). Although the plugs on them are identical, the power supplies are not identical. If you try to use a low-rated power supply on a laptop that needs more power, it won't necessarily work.
The other possibility is that the power circuitry in your Mac is just bad. Try it with a different, known-good adapter compatible with your model of Mac. If it still doesn't work, your laptop will need repair.

Asant? Talk compatibility with Mac OS 10.5.5

This is for system 10.5.x:
1. Delete that printer from your list of printers in System Preferences.
2. Make sure your computer, printer, and Asante box are all hooked up together and turned on.
3. Click + under the list of printers in System Preferences.
4. Click AppleTalk icon in top row of dialogue box that appears.
5. After a moment, click Bluetooth icon instead.
6. After a moment, unplug the power cord from your Asante box (but not from the electrical outlet).
7. After a moment, re-plug the power cord into your Asante box and, as soon as possible after the "TX" light comes on, click the AppleTalk icon again.
8. Within a few moments, your printer's name should appear. Highlight its name, then make sure all the information about it that appears is correct, then click "Add."
9. Everything should communicate beautifully. I had no further problems.
