Don't set for 2 sec, set the camera to 10 sec self timer and click the remote, should work instantly with every click. just remember to set for regular shooting if not using the remote. can be very annoying to wait 10 sec for a shot, unless you want to be in one?

I can't get my 5D mark iii to operate at night with available light

Try using manual focus - if the autofocus won't work, because of low light, then you can't take pictures.

Reset 5d to factory

1. Open the Canon 5D Mark II's menu system by clicking the "Menu" button on the back of the camera.
2. Scroll to the seventh menu at the top, indicated by a wrench icon with three small dots next to it.
3. Choose the "Clear settings" command.
4. Choose "Clear all camera settings."
5. Confirm clear all the camera's settings.

What are lenses that are compatible with the canon eos 5d mark ii

You can use Canon EF lenses. Be careful not to use EF-S lenses, as they cast a smaller image circle for cropped-sensor cameras, not big enough for full-frame cameras. There are other third-party manufacturers that make lenses with Canon EF mounts, such as Sigma and Tamron. Each manufacturer has their own designation for cropped-sensor lenses, so you'll have to check the specifications for each of them.

Looking for directions on using the canon RC6 remote..(camera settings) ..I have a 5D Mark II thank you

Press the [AF-DRIVE] button and select the self-timer mode. Point the remote controller toward the camera and press the button.

Full details are in the "Remote Control Shooting" section of the camera manual (page 102 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

Photos taken with canon 5d with both raw & jpeg formats. When I open Adobe bridge the photos are displayed as _mg_0133.cr2 and _mg_0133.jpeg. The jpegs can be viewed and opened, but I can't open the cr2...

If you have the 5D Mark II (the latest version,) the raw converter in Photoshop CS3 does not support the format. If you have the earlier version of lthe 5D, download the latest raw converter update from Adobe (free}

If you have the Mark II you can do one of three things to continue using Photoshop:

1. Upgrade to CS4. The latest update for it's raw converter supports the 5D Mark II.

2. Download the Adobe DNG Converter when 5.2 version becomes available and convert your cr2 files to the DNG format which CS3 can read. In the past this has been available as a free download form Adobe, but it's not currently on their site.

3. Use the raw converter that came with your camera.
