Remove the bottom panel which would give you access to the pump area if you look up along the side that the door lock is on you will see a cord with a loop on it pull this cord and the door would open. The panel must be removed in order to locate this pull cord. If you have any further questions message me back and please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks Rick
p.s if after you open the door and you were to leave the unit unplugged for 7 minutes if the error did not go away or if the door once again locked up you would have no choice but to replace the door lock assembly on the unit Thanks again Rick

OK...got the door open, but not without pulling loose some cords that I don't think I was supposed to pull out...soooo...thank you so much for getting my clothes out of the washer! Looks like I need a service call after all!

Rick, I have the same problem. I took the bottom panel off and I can't find a cord. I really don't think there is one. So if that's the case what do I do?

  • Anonymous Jul 20, 2011

There is one unless someone previously ripped it off in that case if you were not to find a pull cord you would have no choice but to remove the front panel which is a nightmare without the door being open. I would grab a flashlight and lay down and have a lookie see in an upward direction towards the door lock assembly you may also be able to pop the door by fiddling with the assembly itself but you should see some part of the pull cord even if someone ripped the ring off the cord I await your reply if you have any further questions Thanks again Rick
