Hi, We've had our Mitsubishi rear projection TV for about 9 years. We do not watch it often, but it had a great picture the last time we watched it. Last night it failed to come on at all when powered up - no green light. It's a 1080 HD ready model number 55819. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes. It would have been nice to know the average repair cost for this type of repair to be able to make the next decision.

Hello
Its power supply section is faulty. That is why you do not get the green light energized. There are 8 output voltages emerges from it, which goes to different circuit boards inside it. This is a very complicated ciruted board, and should be worked very carefully. You must have sound knoledge in switching type power supplys [SMPS] to go forward. You must be very causious with working with this section as the mains power supply comes to it and switched by an IC switching regulator. All parts of this chasis will be "Live" and dangerous to touch. Let it get repaired by an experienced service techinican of by the authorised service center. OK.

If you want to do it by yoursef, you must have the ability to follow its schematic diagram [circuit diagram]. You must ahve all serviceing equipments, and a good quality digital mulimter also. Do you have all these, send your email address to me by FixYa comment box. I'll send a copy of the schematic diagram of your Mitsubishi Tv . I can't send it to you by this site, because it doesn't allow me to send larger Adobe Acrobat Reader format files. OK.

The cost may differ to the hardness of service; and the cost of replacing components. It cannot be predicted. OK.

How do I know if I need a new lamp?

Hi,
Yes, if you have not replaced the lamp since you purchased this TV.
Lamps usually last about 6000 hours.
I've seen lamps last much longer than 6000Hrs, it all depends on the usage.
Remove the lamp from the TV and do a visual inspection, see if there's a crack on the glass or the bulb.
If the TV is few years old then the Lamp may be bad.

Buy original Lamp: 800 638-3328

DO NOT BUY the cheap lamp from ebay

Good luck to you.

My Mitsubishi Medallion tv stays on for about 10 minutes and then shuts down and won't turn back on until a period of time has passed. It is a rear projection tv about 9 years old. Can anyone help ex

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

My tv is locked and asking for a an unlock code. I have never had a lock code on the tv since i bought it several years ago. How can I reset or bypass this feature. BTW mt TV is a 48-50" projection...

Hello
I thinks that you have its original remote handset with you now, and posts this solution. If you don't have it, either buy a new original remote handset or try to get it from any of your friends and relatives, who owns the same model of Mitsubishi Tv, you have now; only to unlock it. After unlock, you can use any other remote control.
Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit code for a V-Chip locked program, view a locked TV, cancel the lock, or to enter the V-Chip lock menus. You can view the locked shows on the TV set by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your code is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV and asks you to enter a new code.
OK.

Mitsubishi VS-5041 50 Inch Rear Prorjection TV No image but there is sound!

After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck
