The sansa e 200 player started showing message "refresh database fail" and all data including songs and voice recording has gone. Although the the memory shows 1893 mb still in use. Also on connecting to computer the sansa is not detected. I am unable to load any songs and also unable to refresh the database. The 'reset all' also has not resolved the problem . When I go to recovery mode, on connecting usb cable , it says 'enter USB 2.0 MSD Mode' on disconnecting the cable it says resetting the system. but the player does not recover the database What should I do ? Can U help ? Regards Ashu my sandisk is showing refresh database, then stuck there? Please help

I am having the same problem. Has anyone had success with "putting it in MSC mode and formating it and then putting back on MTP mode?" I wanted to avoid doing any formatting because I wanted to try to recover all of my songs. Do you think that is possible?

SOURCE: Sansa e200 shows refresh database fail

Try emailing SanDisk technical support team at: [email protected] And ask them for the Recovery Mode firmware upgrade (Also send them the problem the way you posted it here). They should send you a link to some firmware upgrade file. You could also try calling them at: 1-866-726-3475 but an email should be sufficient because, from what I remember, it is just a link to file that you need to download. I hope that helps...

I just got a SDmicro 2G to 'add on' to my MP3 player Sansa e200. I have inserted the card and got the reading: "Refresh Database". I do not have the owners manual anymore so I am not sure how to do...

You don't have to do anything. Just wait and let the Sansa refresh its database. It shows a progress bar to indicate progress.

MP3 needs to refresh DataBase?

You have to many songs a sansa e 250 only holds a certain amount of space so your best bet is to buy a memory card or delete songs so you can add new ones.

SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

First switch your USB control to MSC. Then turn off your mp3 player and activate the hold icon. Then turn it on while holding the record button with hold icon still being activated. then it will go to recovery mode. Now plug your sandisk into the computer and wait until it says RECOVERY COMPLETE...PLEASE DISCONNECT or when it just says for you to disconnect. This worked on my sandisk, and it hopefully work for you.
