The CD-ROM provides a full Advanced Manual in PDF format on the CD-ROM. Adobe Acrobat, which is provided on the CD-ROM, is necessary to view the PDF manual. The printed manual that is included with the camera is a "Basic Manual".

Hi, I have an Olympus camera, D-425. For some reason, when I have it on the MOVIE setting, it only allows me to take 6 second clips. I have completely deleted all other photos from the camera, and it...

Greetings - It sounds like you are trying to use the camera's internal memory to shoot video. The camera only has 14 MB of internal memory.
If you want to shoot video or store more than a handful of pictures you need to get yourself an SD memory card and install it as directed in the manual. A two GB card would hold up to 60 minutes of video and can be purchased for about 10 dollars (USD).

Im using an olympus d-425 and i cant save to sd card or access backup menu

The camera takes an xD card not an sD card. Make sure the card is fully inserted to the camera and then you should be able to go to thebackup option in shooting mode. Page 54 of your advanced manual explains how to do this process.

A/C adapter

The A/C adapter recommended for use with the D-425 Camera is the E-7AU. Use this 110V/120V AC Adapter to conserve batteries when downloading to your computer, for extended work in a studio, during printing, or while viewing images while connected to your TV or VCR. You can purchase this through the Olympus Emporium or 1-800-201-7766.

Focus on a particular subject

If the camera is having trouble doing an auto focus you can try the FOCUS LOCK feature. This feature allows you to focus on another subject roughly the same distance away from you, and then move the camera back to your original subject and take your picture without losing that focus. First turn the camera on and locate the AutoFocus Target Mark in the center of the LCD. The AF Target Mark resembles an open and close bracket [ ]. Position this AF Target Mark on a subject roughly the same distance away from you as the subject that the camera is having trouble focusing on. Press the shutter button halfway enabling the lens to focus. While keeping the shutter button pressed halfway, move the camera back to include the subject you originally wanted in the image, then press the shutter fully. (Please see page 20 in the D-425 Advanced Manual in Section 2, under the heading titled “If Correct Focus Cannot Be Obtained”, for a more detailed explanation. This Advanced Manual is provided on a separate CD, in Adobe PDF format.)

Macro mode

The Macro Mode operating range of the D-425 camera is 8 inches to 20 inches. This means the camera must be between 8 inches and 20 inches away from the subject for a picture to be in focus.
