The reason your tv is powering down is that it is not receiving an input signal on the channel (input). basically you don't have anything plugged in and turned so the tv doesn't see a signal on component 5 so it shuts the tv off. turn on your TV and hit the input button until you get to the input that you are have a device installed on. just make sure the device you are trying to see on the tv is turned on prior to turning on your tv.

If you do not have an and device plugged in (cable or other input device), plug something in to an input and turn the device on so a signal is being sent to the tv and then turn on your tv and change the channel to that input.

if you are locked on input 5, install and turn on a device to that input so the TV registers it as an active input.

Can't seem to get the av and hdmi inputs to work ?n my pioneer pdp 507xd plasma

Make sure the cable is plugged into input 5 if your tv is on input 5. Make sure that you don't need to be on the AV input. I suggest using a hdmi cable also to bring the resolution up to 1080p. Make sure the wire isn't shorted also.

What parts probably need replacing on my Pioneer plasma PDP-5010 FD after a home lightening strike?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

How can I connect a coaxial cable to Pioneer PDP-505CMX 50 in. Plasma Television

If it has a coax fitting on the back connect there. If it does not have (means it is a monitor with no tuner) connect with a/v jacks to the correct input (component?) from a box and select that input to use for watching programs----picture will always be better via rear inputs than coax.

Hdmi input on pioneer pdp-r04u doesn't work. The component cables work, but not the HDMI. The digital audio works.

the r04u comes factory with hdmi DISABLED, hook up your hdmi device, and turn r04u to the hdmi  input (input 1 or input 3)  then:
To activate the HDMI terminal:
1 Press HOME MENU.
2 Press /  to select “Option”, and then press
ENTER.
3 Press /  to select “HDMI Input”, and then press
ENTER.
4 Press /  to select “Setting”, and then press
ENTER.
5 Press /  to select “Enable”, and then press
ENTER.

there you go
