After instaling windows 7 onto my Sony vaio VGN-SZ120P/B i found that a few drivers were missing..... mainly my web camera driver. i tried to use skype and it did not detect my web camera..... i tried later just accesse my web camera and could not do so. i need to know what to do so i can countiue to use my (bulit in) web camera again.... plz help

The problem why the drivers of your sony vaio is missing, its because your sony vaio is not yet compatible with windows 7. If you want to know what Im saying. Go to this link: CLICK ME

In that link you will find a portion that says SELECT YOU OPERATING SYSTEM, when you click the drop down list you will notice that there are only 2 OS in the list, (XP and VISTA) its means that this 2 are the only OS that is compatible with your Sony Vaio thats why your driver is missing.

So i suggest that you change your Operating system to XP or VISTA which is compatible to your Sony Vaio and if ever you need the drivers just click the link above choose your OS and download your driver.

What you need to do is find the exact serial number or type of webcam you have, and then type that into Google followed by the word "driver for windows 7". For example: "webcam x driver for windows 7". That should most likely work. Then just download and install the driver.

I am having Sony Vaio-VGN FZ15g laptop.I upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit but now camera is not being detected and working?
I have tried to install windows 7 onto a viao laptop and had similar problems with items not working and it seems that on some things, there is no fix, the only thing I can suggest would be to go to Sony's website, and try downloading the latest drivers from there, if there are no windows 7 drivers available then try the older ones in compatibility mode.

Most likely missing a driver for SD/MC card reader
The problem is that Sony doesnt offer drivers for 64-bit windows so the other 32-bit drivers will not be compatible.
You have the options to install the windows versions supported by sony from esupport.sony.com (Vista or XP)
Or try installing windows 7 32-bit and installing the missing drivers from esupport (Vista section) as usually they are compatible.
If the driver is still missing you will need to update the driver from device manager (previously installed from esupport) and then select to browse or select a location, which will be %temp% or what is the same the temp folder for your account C\users\your_user_name\appdata\temp. This folder is usually hidden but it will work if you just type %temp%

If your driver is not updated you can download the driver on Sony Webiste. Driver for Windows 7 is not on the list you can try to download the driver for Windows Vista. Click here. If the driver wont install it means that it is not supoorted by Windows 7.

Try downloading the originally shipped Sony Visual Communication Camera Driver from here.

Function keys may not work under Windows 7 Operating System. However, only in few cases, you can update the Video Driver, install the Sony Notebook Utilities, VAIO® Event Service Update to resolve the issue.
