The manual is available here: http://www.sharkclean.com/manual/KC271B_REV_0804B.pdf . The high and low settings are more like those of a microwave rather than a direct temperature setting. On high, the slow cooker uses full power (35 watts). On low it uses 1/2 power.

I hope this helps.

(In one place it says 34 watts. In another it's 340 watts.)

This is a hard one! I can't find a manual for your model, but there is one for the KC272B here:
http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/bravetti/bravetti_slow_cooker_product_list.html

I'm sorry I couldn't find what you are looking for, but maybe that will help.

Della 12 Quart 1600-Watt Electric Pressure Cooker Multi-Functional Timer Slow Cook XL Part number: 048-GM-48261 Unable to get this cooker to slow cook.

it is possible that you have misunderstood the instructions
for a slow cooker you have low medium and high
press slow cook and on low and in 8 hours the food is cooked
I see from your statements that you expect the cooker to be set on slow cook but cook at a high temperature fast
if it says slow cook --9 hours and the temp is 125 degrees , have you waited 9 hours to see if it is cooked as the slow cooking process is by the gradual build up of heat in the container that is not expelled by radiation to the air
in a pressure cooker , that build up of heat also builds up pressure and so it cooks better
other solution--- if it is not right return it for a warranty refund or if out of warranty , junk it and get a different make

I have inherited a west bend slow cooker model 84624 and dont have a manuel for it. I am concerned with the 300 watt is this normal? Or is that very low? I dont know how long to cook in this or amounts...

  • 1 Use setting 1 (warm #1) only to warm rolls and muffins. At 140 degrees Fahrenheit, this setting should not be used for cooking.
  • 2 Use setting 2 (warm #2) to keep cooked foods warm until they're ready to be served.
  • 3 Use settings 3, 4 and 5 (low, medium high) for cooking. The setting you choose determines the length of time the food will cook. A typical meal with meat and vegetables needs 7 to 10 hours to cook at the low or #3 setting, 4 to 6 hours at the medium or #4 setting, and 2 to 3 hours at the high or #5 setting.

  • All West Bend slow cooker models eventually simmer at the boiling point, or 212 degrees. The setting simply determines how quickly the cooker will reach that temperature.

300 watt is not a huge consumption of electricity, depending of course on, how often, how long and how high temperature.

Ihave model #169200...can I set a tempurature or is it just high, low and warm???If I can set a temp ,how would I do it Thanks

The model 169200 only allows you to set temperatures in predetermined steps of WARM, LOW, HIGH.

You cannot enter the desired temperature in degrees.

The design of this models controls is terrible. I have one and would not recommend this to anyone. Obviously designed by someone who has a very confused understanding of how "slow cooking" works.

I have Ronson slow cooker with no manual, it has settings 1,2 qnd auto. Which is high and low, and what does auto setting do>

I also have a Ronson slow cooker.

Instructions from the book read as follows:
    - On setting 1 (low), the slow cooker can operate all day and night if required.
    - When set to 2 (high), it is very much like a covered pot on the stove. Foods will cook in half the time required for 1 (low).
    - When set to auto, the slow cooker will cook on 2 (high) until the food reaches a pre-set temperature, then switches to 1 (low) and maintains a constant slow cooking temperature. Auto is the ideal setting for someone leaving the house for the whole day as most food will cook for 8-9 hours and be ready to serve when they return.

I always use the auto setting, unless I don't have as much time, and will then use setting 2.

Lost Manual - not sure which is high or low

Hi. I'm a Ronson Service Centre.

I grabbled this blurb from a Ronson Slow Cooker Manual. Not the same model, but it has the same settings:

On Setting 1 (Low) the Slow Cooker can operate all day and night if required.
When set to 2 (High) it is very much like a covered pot on the stove. Foods will cook in ½ the time required for 1 (Low)
When set to Auto, the Slow Cooker will cook on 2 until the food reaches a pre-set temperature, then switches to 1 and maintains a constant slow cooking temperature.
“Auto” is the ideal setting for someone leaving the house for the whole day as most food will cook for 8-9 hours and be ready to serve when they return.

    Cooks too hot/fast

    Hi Wendigo,

Crock pots are not exact, they only have a "target" minimum temperature (to be sure they kill bacteria). It's possible you just have a relatively strong heating element.

Also, remember that the boiling point of liquids changes considerably with your altitude, so if you're in a mountainous region you may be seeing "boiling" at a lower temperature than you expect.
