Have 1995 Mercury Sable Ls. The car will not start. When turning the key I get nothing no clicking noise lights dim. We tried to jump the car off with jumper cables and it still does not start. Checked fuses all good. Replaced Battery still won't start. Any suggestions

Check the cables. Did the test the battery under load?

Have you looked for the main fuse? It usually looks like a big fuse with a glass door. It may be loose.

remove the starter and have it bench checked, Its dragging or is binding in the mount somehow. you can bench check it yourself with a set of jumper cables,, put the positive where the positive wire attaches to your starter, and ground the case with the neg ,, be careful it jumps when you touch the cables on,

If u turn the key and all it does is click its ur starter I've worked on cars my whole life just about and I'm only 28 lol

Have the battery and cables checked they carode inside the insulation and draw alot but allow very little power through.

try resetting your computer

try to check if the starter relay clicking while you start.If no maybe bad connection from ignition key. If the relay clicking maybe the connection to starter or the starter itself is damaged. try to direct the sol. of starter to batt. positive if it kick your starter is good.

Could be one of two things.

1. Your starter motor is no good.
2. If you turn on your lights and try to start the car and they dim to almost black, then you need to check the battery connections.
