TLA-04011C dead, red LED on

TLA-04011C similar problems as with all polaroid tvs but red led only never turns blue. I looked at the boards but are different than the FLM type and didnt see any obvious bad caps. Advise?

I have the same exact problem. Has there been any responses? Thank you.

Red light is on so it is getting power but it wont turn on. Not by remote or the tv itself. Even turned the power off several times.

This has happened to me before. The red LED is lit but the TV will not turn on by the remote or the set itself. I have, in the past, unplugged the set, waited a few seconds, then plugged it back in and the set would come on. This time I suppose I have ran out of luck.

Why do questions like this one show as having "Solutions"? Does anyone else find it irritating when you click on all the "solved" questions only to find a bunch of dead ends? I waste so many hours of my life clicking these damn things. Once in a while you'll find a good solution with in depth, straight forward information. The rest of the time it's just a bunch of uneducated guesses or people trying to bump it.
I don't contribute to what I just spoke of, let me advise the closest I've come yet to fixing this TV... RED LED, NO PICTURE = Bad Main board. I've changed out a dozen or so caps that read high for ESR. Most of them were the 220uF/25v. I'm going to revisit this board again as I neglected to test the tiny little electrolytic 10uF, 22uF variety. From there, I plan to chase the voltage around the board and see where it stops. If you're not insane like me, and you would like an easy solution, buy a new main board. But I'm crazy, and I'm going to whip this bastard TV, I promise.
If you don't hear from me soon, just know that I fought my hardest in battle, and in doing so, I died with honor. ...even though I left a load in my shorts from getting electrocuted by the Polaroid.

It is the main control board of the TV. I had a repair tech come out due to the extended warranty. They are replacing the control board and the tech says it happens frequently.

I will NEVER buy from Walmart again as it has been 3 months awaiting the part and they will not step in and resolve this with the warranty provided.

So much for customer service these days....

Sorry for the delay in update. The TV is now sitting in my garage as I spent another month hassling with Walmart. The warranty company they contract with SUCKS! Sorry for the harsh language but it has been completely frustrating trying to get this TV fixed under the warranty.

Basically, Walmart kept contacting the warranty company with no response. Walmart after 6 months contacted me and sent me a check for the purchase prise of the TV. I went to Costco and purchased a Vizio 42: and love it (so far).

I will never buy a TV from Walmart and try not to shop there anymore due to their lack of concern and promptness to resolve my issue.

My polaroid TLA-04011c wont come on at all - it has a blue LED lit, indicating the set is on, but theres no picture whatsoever

First turn on and check with flashlight 2 in. from screen and see if there is a picture. If no picture then open back panel door by taking big black screw out of middle and 2 screw at bottom of panel and slide panel downward, pull off and unscrew metal plate and you should see bad caps in this set, this is what have to be replaced.

POLAROID TLA-04011C does not turn on

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Need new power supply for this tv

I like you last comment. LOL
All brand of TV are having somewhat the same problems.
I believe a law needs to pass to have the TVs last longer than 5 years. I see TVs all the time only lasting 16 months.

This web site has 2 complete power supplies in stock right now. Here's the link:
