I have the same problem. I changed the passwords for the bios and the user. Both passwords were different. Neither seems to work now. I cant have miss-typed them both surely. I am in no doubt as the the passwords that I chose.

I suggest you try hard to remember your windows password, otherwise you have to reset it or reinstall Windows. I do not recommend you to reinstall Windows, which may lead a data loss. So if you really can not remember the password, try following steps: 1. Download Window Password Seeker and install it on that PC. 2. It is an ISO file. Burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD or a USB flash drive. 3. Boot the locked computer from CD/DVD and remove Windows password

You can reset a lost or forgot Windows password with 4 methods below: 1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on. 2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ). 3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 . 4. Re-install. Will lose data.

there are three pwd pin on motherboard first you set configration mode 12 then you start you system
go into bois setup there is option clear password.click it.f10 save and exit.
after doing this now put normal mode pin setting.
now your passward is broken.

You can set a bios and hard drive password either by using Acer Empowering Technology application or entering the bios itself by restarting the computer and hit F2 while its just starting up, make sure you keep your password safe because if you forget the the passwords you may find yourself locked out of your own computer and bios passwords are very hard to crack.
hi im josh in cebu phils. if the you forgot the password then you can delete or changes it. you go to the bios utility setup then go to security settings then disable or change new password.then save the changes then reboot your pc. bang! problems solved.good luck

I had same problem, just remove plastic trim ( the one with the switches to power on etc etc ) and you will see a micro dipswitch. It should have all 4 switches to 0, move switch 1 to position 1 power laptop and password should be removed. Turn laptop off move switch 1 back to posiotion 0 and replace the plastic trim. It worked for me on an ACer Aspire 3610.
