Hello, are the rear quarrter panel windows supposed to open? I never thought so but now one has opened on it's own and it won't let me move it to close it. the other side won't open and that makes me think they're not supposed to open.

Look at your maintenance manual. To find where your fuse box is located(may be under the hood or under the steering wheel). When you find the fuse box look on the back of the panel flap and you'll find a fuse map. Locate the fuse that corresponds with your problem. It could be the same fuse but not likely. If fuse is blown then replace it with a spare. Most manufacturers will put spare fuses in the box or you could pull a fuse from some where else just to try and see if the problem is still there( make sure it's the same size and understand that it could blow this fuse as well then you will need 2 fuses). Most of the time fuses don't just blow. For some reason it pulled to much load. Probably a dead short in the wiring. I hope this helps.
I know this question is old, but I am responding so others with the same problem can see. I wired the Rear Window Motor Park Signal wire and the Rear Window
Motor Speed Signal wire together and it completely bypassed the rear
wiper motor. Now the window goes up and down. This doesn't fix the rear wiper motor, but you will be able to have access to it now that the window is out of the way
on 1987 all you mentioned are on same fuse #11 located in fuse box below steering wheel 3rd row 3rd fuse from left next to either a blank space if you do not have power windows,or next to silver circuit breaker if you do have power windows.
Believe it or not its a 12 dollar plastic peice that broke happened to me grinding nosie hatch not opening ... brought it to saab got the call its a 12 dollar part but takes 5-6 hours 700 dollars to fix that.. so I thought to do it myself because it broke again if done wrong the roof will twist and bye bye window hello hole new soft top
Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.
There is a control module in each door with connectors. I have already had one where the wiring in the connector was bad. This takes some troubleshooting, but sometimes moving things around while trying to run the windows will should you where the loose connection is.
I'd love to know how this turned out as have the same problem with 2009 Santa Fe now.
Broken rear window has been removed but cant open the hatch.
I have removed the internal liner and all the lever rods are attached. A bit of glass inside the door and I have tried banging on the door to unblock it. Squirted CRC in the area and will leave until daylight and have another go.
