The chemical injection system works by siphon action. You must have the black or largest/ low pressure tip installed for it to work properly. If you feel any pressure at the wand, most likely will not work. If your wand has the adjustable type tip, it may have a restriction causing pressure and not allowing siphon action. If you continue having trouble with siphon, you could plug/shut of siphon and install an aftermarket injector between the wand and the pump (not expensive). Sold at www.pwmall.com Good luck

Can a fuel pump relay cause poor gas delivery

NO, the relay will either work or it won't. (Unplug it and look at it; if the terminals look corroded... replace it.) Most cars have fuel injection systems these days. In addition to the fuel pump that pumps fuel out of the gas tank... there is an injection system pump which is quite expensive. In order of operation: 1) have your injectors cleaned or replaced as needed (new ones run about $30 each), 2) have the injection system pump pressure checked and get a rebuilt pump if needed (brand new one ~$850), and 3) check the fuel pump. If the car has more than 80K miles on it, then suspect clogged or partially obstructed injectors. A BOSCH SERVICE CENTER has a machine to test and clean most makes of injectors. At the same time, replace your fuel filter and use good gas when you fill up. NEVER fill up from a station that just had a fuel truck delivery (if you see the tank truck) as the garbage on the bottom of the tank takes a day or so to settle back down again. Magneti Marelli Check Star also offers good injection system servicing. The dealership should be your last resort as they just replace parts until the problem goes away... leaving you with a hefty bill and a bag of old parts

Failed smog due to "air injection"

What did you find wrong with the Thermactor/air injection system? If it was a system fault code that indicated the system is not working you likely need to replace the electric pump for the injection. Air injection speeds up the Catalytic chemical process by adding Oxygen when the engine is cold and Hydrocarbon production by the engine is higher. It runs for a very short time and then is shut down by the on board computer when it see the correct O2 signals.

Feul injection

SOUNDS AS IF INJECTERS NEED CLEANING.
FIRST STAGE LOAD YOUR FUEL TANK UP WITH SOME INJECTER CLEANER AVAILABLE FROM ANY MOTOR *** SHOP AND RUN THE ENGINE. IF IT'S AS BAD AS YOU SAY YOU MAY NEED TO USE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE STRENGTH. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK TRY REMOVING INJECTERS AND SOAK THEM IN THE SAME NEAT FLUID. ALSO HAVE YOU CHECKED THE ELECTRICS TO THE INJECTERS AND ALSO THAT THE PLUGS ARE CLEAN AND SPARK UNDER COMPRESSION.

Where would I find availability of parts in QLD Australia to suit a pressure cleaner 3200 psi coupled to a Briggs & Stratton motor pressure washer number 020225-0 part required chemical injection kit...

Wayne,

Any Pressure Washer dealer should be able to sell you what is called a "Down Stream Injector". What you need to know is the flow rate. Like, at low pressure, see how many Gallons/Liters Per Minute actually comes out the wand. That is what the seller needs to know in order to sell you one the proper sized internal orifice. Also, you need to know that these devices only **** chemical at low pressure. They make special tips and/or wands so you can easily revert to low pressure to apply your cleaning chemical. This stuff is generic. It will come with standard pipe threading. Close is good enough on "flow-rate". Just use a bucket or something and get a reasonably close estimate.

Can't get nozzle to work. not building up enough pressure.

Make sure the injector is turned on. Clean the nozzle or the strainer if either are clogged or blocked. There may also be dried chemicals in the injector; dissolve them by running warm water through the injection tube.
Check to see that the faucet is open if the engine is running but the pump is not building maximum pressure. If the unit has been stored in freezing temperatures, you'll need to thaw it out completely, including the gun, wand and hose. There may also be air in the pump. Allow the engine to run with the gun open and the wand removed until a steady stream of water is released. In addition, make sure the adjustable pressure knob is set to the maximum position,
Clean the nozzle if the engine is overloaded, as the nozzle may be partially blocked. Reduce excessive pressure by using the pressure adjustment knob.

Craftsman Pressure Washer 580.752160 reagent/chemical not being dispensed when wand in low pressure position.

It is very common for the chemical injector valve on these to get gummed up from residual soap sitting in the valve. To clean it follow the chemical hose back to where it attaches to the pump. There will be a hex headed hose barb attached to it. Remove the barb from the pump. Underneath it you will find a spring and a ball bearing. Rinse the parts thoroughly and reassemble. You should also check the chemical strainer that goes into your chemical bucket. They can also become clogged and should periodically be cleaned.
