you Could just pick some up at Home Depot or Lowes The screws used for for attaching the table top stands are called M6 SCREWS IN 10-12MM

The only solution to this problem would be to contact Sony directly and order a stand.

TVs are sold in the box with one single stand and the electronics stores don't receive extra stands to sell to customers. Ordering a stand from the manufacturer generally costs less than $100.

That is a very expenxive procedure. It is actually the screen of the TV, and not just glass. You can try to see how much the whole screen cost. Also it is a challenging job for the consumer.

There are six screws on the back of the set that remove the stand. Turn the set on its face on a soft surface (bed or carpet). At the base of the TV set (on the TV, not on the stand) you will see nine (9) screw heads. Remove the top three and the bottom three. Leave the middle three in place. The stand just lifts off.
Now, replace the six screws into the TV chassis so if you ever want to replace the stand you'll know where the screws are.

Required screw part number is as follows as per service manual of Sony KDL-40S4100 model..
7-682-973-49 SCREW, +PSW 5X16
and it is available in Part Store, click the link and I think TV needs 4 screws or so.
