My pxma mp 600 canon printer is printing black lines through some of the lines on the page. I have tried all cleaning and alignment instructions in the manual. Did not help.

Do you have these black lines on the back of the paper as well. I bet you do. They are caused by the waste ink pipe overflowing onto the paper and not into the ink absorbers. Alas you cannot fix this yourself as the printer engine needs to come out and a modification carried out (it lengthens the pipe) Its a pain of a job even for a Canon engineer but its the only answer i am afraid.

I've got a Canon Pixma MP 500. Printing from my computer = faded print. Copying = blank page. Auto head align fails. Alarm light goes on. Have tried stop/reset button. How can I fix this?

Hello,

It sounds like the print head on your printer is either clogged or not working.

You get faint print from your computer because the computer will use your color inks to get gray. When you copy, it only tries to use black and the black isn't printing at all.

Check your user's manual and it should show you how to clean the print head. Otherwise replace the print heads and you should be fine.

Thanks,

Pat

I have problems aligning printer heads on my Canon i850. I have clean the printer heads, replaced cartdridges, re-aligned them, but I still get lines through the printed material (phots mostly). No...

Please try to uninstall and reinstall your printer.

Clean your printer heads.

Perform a hard reset to your printer.

Print a test page.

Try using a different bond paper.

Make sure you are using original canon cartridge

If still you get an error. Replace your printer heads.

Prints every other line

Use the cleaning cycle first. If it completes do a nozzle check and then to align follow below.
You need to hook it up to computer to do a manual head align through the printer properties maintenance section.

Stripes on Images only - Text OK

Perhaps the CMY color heads need alignment. If you have not already done so, run a head alignment from the driver maintenance section. It will print out a page containing several lines and text, and request you select the closest-aligned images. After this is done, do another image print to check for improvements.
Normally, the printer uses the black cartridge for text and the CMY inks for images (even for black on photo and specialty paper). So when you are printing normal text pages on plain paper, only the black ink is used. A good check for this would be to print a normal text page, but select photo paper in the driver to trick the printer into using the CMY inks to make a substitute black text page. If this looks ok, then you are having issues other than cartridge alignment.

Thin black lines (mp 530)

Here's the link for how to clean the unit... I was going to post the instructions here, but there are pictures that might be helpful to you.

Before doing anything more drastic, I would try this.. let us know how it turns out.. if it doesn't work, we'll go from there.

Canon i455 not printing properly

(i posted this for someone before)

When you remove the black cartridge there will be electrical contacts inside the printer that lines up with some contacts on your cartridge, make sure these are clean

Also, according to this printers manual, have you tried a printer head align?

"(1) Open the Printer Properties dialog box. See Opening the Printer Properties dialog box directly from the Start menu
(2) Click the Maintenance tab.
(3) Click Print Head Alignment.
Follow the instructions on the screen."
