It sounds like a coin is caught somewhere and I can hear it on the spin cycle, and especially when the machine empties. Can I find it and where do i look?

Whirlpool spin cycle rattling

Well, it just might be. :-) More than likely you have something in your machine basket that is loose. Probably a coin or something from clothes previously dried or washed in the machine. This is quite common, especially for folks who carry coins or loose objects in their pockets. Remove whatever is loose in the basket and you will have solved your problem.

My indesit wib111 wont go ignto o spin cycle or empty.it fills and washes ok

Washing Machines do not spin when filled with water for obvious reasons. Have you checked the filter? this could be blocked with a build of fluff etc.
Can you hear the pump running when it is supposed to be emptying. This means there is a blockage. Can you hear a "humming" This means the pump is jamed, may be a coin or some other small item. If there is no sound then the pump is most likely at fault.

Hi, My Hoover 600MB top loading washing machine is approx 8 years old. Recently it has occassionally not fully spun out - clothes still wet at end of cycle. Now it also often doesn't agitate - just...

Have a look for coins etc stuck in the drain pump or the tub outlet hoses especially where they fit onto the tub. If a coin or other foreign material blocks the water flow when draining , these machines wont spin properly.

After spin cycle clothes r still soaking wet. cleaned coin catcher. ideas???

If the spin cycle is kicking in, then you can be pretty sure that the water has all emptied from the drain cycle, otherwise it wouldn't start the spin. So the chances are the coin catcher clean was not going to be the fix. The Highest probability is simply a case of overload. If the load is to great and the balance is thrown off as a result then it won't get up to full speed (the motor has several windings, so it slowly steps up from a slow spin, then up a step, then another, then full speed. poor loads will cause it to fail to kick in the fastest spin. Having said this, if that's not the case, then I'm afraid to say you may well have a motor, or a controller module fault. If so, it could get expensive.

To test, run the shortest cycle you can with the machine empty. It will be a lot easier to hear and see this way. Make sure that you hear the empty pump eject the water and that you then hear it runn on a little after all the wayer is gone. This will show if it IS in fact enptying completely. Presuming it is, now watch and listen as the spin kicks in. Does it reach full speed when there is no load? If it does, then check the weight of your DRY load doesn't exceed the recommended load (remember a pound over weight will be several pounds overweight once wet!). If it doesn't get up to full speed with no clothes in it, I'm afraid its time to call an engineer.

Spin cycle noise

coins inbetween bowl can be a problem
try tacking machine outside empty of all water
tip upside down sometimes gets the coins out
otherwise you need to pull machine apart
try another way
remove from bellows from machine and turn bowl by hand to remove coins
have fun

Fills washes rinses but wont spin properly or empty out washer, ends cycle half done, wont pump water out or spin out. i can hear the machine hum while trying to do so. Please any ideas. THanks

its likely the pump is blocked (hence the humming) with a coin or some foreign object. To check, lower the outlet hose to ground level to allow the water to empty. Tip machine back & lean against a wall, remove the pump & remove object if there is one! Reassemble & try machine again

Calypso Washing Machine

There are two places a coin could be that will cause a noise. Either in the basket under the nutator or in the pump. If you hear the noise after the basket stops from the spin, look under the nutator, if you hear it during the cycle, check the pump. If you only hear the noise during the agitation, not the spin cycle, you may have a u-joint going out.
