Hi jwwilliams8,

The F1 error code description is an electronic oven control failure. To fix this error, you need to replace electronic oven control (also called EOC or clock).

Hope it helps.

My Gallery Series Range is blinking F1 and will not stop blinking

There is a test for this on all ranges that 'they' recommend trying for the F1 code. It does involve some dis -assembly of the range. Do this only if you are comfortable. Other wise call for service.

TURN POWER OFF TO RANGE FIRST THING!

This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Electronic touch panel unresponsive. Clock blinks, but no other commands produce any activity. Model#:JMW8330DAS Serial #:13679516JN Jenn-Air oven. About 2 years old.

Unplug and let sit for 5 min. Replug and set clock time first. Then see if the other buttons work. Electronics sometime need to reboot if it freezes like your computer does sometimes.

F1 error on SS Amana Convection wall oven

The control panel has a design problem, and it gets dirty and worn over time. I have replaced mine once, and it happened again less than 2 years later. I took the panel out, and inspected it. I found a web solution that said to shim the panel out away from the housing slightly because it rubs on the metal housing around it and damages the control board contacts. I could see little scratch marks on the plastic skin around the edge of the button area, so that made sense. I tried it, and it still did not work.....panel was still beeping. Mine seemed to be the timer control buttons that were going on and off. So, I took it out again, and actually peeled the control surface off of the control board. No going back now, I thought. I got it off and looked at the control panel. It looked fine, but there was a lot of gunk and wear marks around the edge of the plastic button area. I cleaned it up with alcohol swabs, and put the cover back on the board. It was still sticky enough to go back on. I reinstalled it, and "bingo" no more problem. It has been fine for 3 months now. Yahooo!

How do i set clock for time of day

You can download your owner's manual free here.

From the manual:

SETTING THE CLOCK - When the microwave oven is plugged into an outlet, the oven will display " 0:00 "

1. Press the CLOCK button; the hour digit will blink
and the clock indicator will light.

2. Press the number keys to set current hour.

3. Press the number keys to set current minute.

4. Press AM/PM to choose AM or PM.

5. Press the CLOCK button again; the display will
show the present time. After the clock has been
set, the time will appear with blinking colon,
unless the oven is cooking or defrosting.

NOTES:

- To reset the present time in the display window when the oven is off, press the CLOCK button and
reset.

- If you make a mistake when setting the time, press the STOP/CLEAR button.

- To recall the actual time while the oven is cooking or defrosting, simply press the CLOCK button
and the display will show the actual time for three seconds.

I have an Emerson Microwave Oven MW8997W and cannot change the hour (time) on my clock. How do I change the clock? Debbie

If your keys do not work at all, you probably have a bad keypad, in which case I'd ask you to reply back. In the meantime:

SETTING THE CLOCK

When the microwave oven is plugged into an outlet,
the oven will display " 0:00 "

After the clock has been set,
the time will appear with blinking colon, unless
the oven is cooking or defrosting.

What does "F1" mean? The oven is out!

I think f1 is a problem with the oven control board. Look on the back of the oven for a tech sheet and it will tell you what the codes mean and what to check.
