Test the thermal fuse on top of the lamp housing for open it's likely the cause... Can't remember the part number off the top of my head but that shouldn't be difficult to find.

I have that manual. There are three lights to the left of the power button. One is labled LAMP. The manual states "The projection lamp, which illuminates the picture, has a limited life. If the screen becomes dark, the color looks unusual, or the LAMP indicator on the front of the LCD projector TV flashes, it is time to replace the lamp with a new one (not supplied). Use a Sony XL-2200 replacement lamp (not supplied) for replacement. Use of any other lamp may damage the LCD projection TV." I also found in a different page " LAMP LED lights up in red when the lamp for the light source has burnt out." I guess burnt out would be extream. I found one other if you had opened the light bulb cover and didn't close it properly. " If the lamp cover is not reattached securely, the self-diagnostic function may be triggered and the POWER/STANDBY indicator flashes three times." the problem simply is a bad lamp that is why you are having a black screen.
The solution is simply for you to replace the lamp of the television with a new one. To replace this, you will have to unscrew the television open and try to remove the old lamp and fix in a new one. It is very easy.
If you are still having the blinking light, then it means it is not only the lamp that is faulty, there also is a bad capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel of the television that needs to be replaced.
Once the bad capacitor is replaced, your television will be in good condition once again.
Hi, If the Lamp red light is blinking then replace lamp, replacement procedure is written in user manual and its easy. If standby/ power red light is blinking then please count its blinking and post here. It is an error code that has info about problem in specific section of tv. You will see 3 seconds long pause between blinks so count pause to pause.
The standby light blinks to indicate problems with the TV. Six blinks indicates an internal problem, I suspect with the lamp. I recommend contacting a Sony repair shop to vacuum out the TV and replace the lamp. Installing it yourself has no bulb warranty and you cannot vacuum it out without taking it apart. Lamps are $250+ each...
