My Spectroniq PDV-70X is giving me an error message "wrong disc.", each time I put in a DVD. What is the problem?
Inside the machine the laser will sometimes adjust itself to a position just out of reach of the disc and you will get a "default message", so it doesn't necessarily mean you have the "wrong disc". This can be adjusted by yourself or take it in to be done. This is only, of course that you have covered the basics and cleaned the discs and inside machine. Just blow in it even, they do attract dust as dvd's are like a magnet to dust.

I have never been able to use this DVD player. I received it as a Christams present and just opened the box this summer and it has never worked. The only message is the WRONG DISC ERROR message. This is so sad. I know my son would have expected better from a product. Thanks for any help you can give, because Staples would not permit a return even tho it was never used. The call number in the manual also says it is outside of our calling area even tho it is an 888 number. I call China monthly, so where is outside of my calling area?
when I put in any dvd, the message "wrong disc" comes up. I bought this from a friend and have used it several times and it has always worked well, but yesterday I tried to play a movie and that message came up. Now that is all it will do.
