Somehow, our Uniden 6.0 phone is now on "silent mode on" so it doesn't ring & we need to get the ringer turned back on but don't know how.
Also, I just looked at the face of the phone and the screen says "searching"..........apparently while trying to fix the ringer, we hit something that has it "searching". We don't know what it's searching for, but something is wrong. We sure do need some help. Thanks so much!

ringer volume for each handset( if you turn the ringer all the way down that particular ringer turns off)
when it happens---- in standby
press up to increase volume
Probably the handset is in Silent Mode. Press and hold the # key (below 9) to toggle the silent mode off. When you turn on the feature by holding the # key, you can enter a number (1-9) to end the silent feature in that many hours. However, if you do not type a number, the silent mode will remain on until disabled.
Without the model number of your Uniden phone, I don't know which silencing feature you are dealing with.
Some Uniden handsets have a Silent Mode. To toggle this on and off, press and hold the # key (below 9) for 5+ seconds when the phone isn't in use. When the silent mode is enabled, the handset will ask for a length of time for the 'no-ring' option. If no key is pressed, then the Silent Mode will continue until the # key is held again.
Other Uniden phones have Do Not Disturb. The button to enable/disable this will be on the cordless phone base. The answering system will automatically turn on and none of the handsets will ring when this feature is enabled.
You can also set the ringer volume to zero. Depending on the phone, you can reset this by pressing the volume up/down buttons or going through the menu. Look for the Ringer Volume in the same section of the menu as the Ring Tone options.
If you need additional information, please add a comment with the model of your phone. I hope this helps.

Turned on Silent Mode and forgot how to turn off! I appreciateyou took ... BTW you come up first in a google for \Uniden Dect 6.0 silent mode/ !.
The procedure varies from phone to phone. Since you neglected to specify the model of your Uniden DECT 6.0 phone I can only suggest you select it from the list beginning here to download a copy of the manual.
I went into the menu and turned off the personal ringer. And that worked for me. When you set up a caller into the phone book it ask you for a personal ring tone. If none is selected none will ring.
With the phone in standby, try pressing and holding the # key on the handset for 5+ seconds. This toggles the silent mode for the D1660 between "always on" and off. If this doesn't help, check the Ringer volume. (This can be set by pressing the volume + button with the phone in standby on some models.)
If this doesn't work, please add a comment with the specific model Uniden DECT 6.0 phone that you have? There are several. Manuals for many Uniden DECT phones are available from their customer support site: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl . The manuals are in alphabetical and numerical order.
Hi!
Some phones have a double function for the "#" button.
Press and hold this button "#" and the silent mode will turn off/on.
I hope this will work!
Have a nice day!

Silent Mode You can silence the ringers on the base and all handsets for a specific period of time; the answering system answers any incoming calls without playing anything through the speaker. With the phone in standby, press and hold # on any handset. The phone prompts you to select the number of hours (1 - 9 or Always On) that you want it to stay in silent mode. To confirm, press # or just wait about 5 seconds. The phone turns on the answering system and displays Silent Mode On on each handset. After the selected number of hours, the phone automatically exits silent mode. To exit silent mode manually, press and hold # again. If the phone is in silent mode and you turn off the answering system, the phone exits silent mode. Multihandset Features To use the features in this section, you need at least 2 handsets. Your base supports a total of 12 cordless handsets: the one that came with the base and up to 11 DCX160 accessory handsets. You must register accessory handsets to the base before using them. (Handsets that came packaged with the base are already registered.)Handsets that aren't registered display a Not Registered message. For registration instructions, see p. 18, or see the accessory handset manual. If a handset was ever registered to a base, you must reset it before it can register to a new base; see p. 18, or see the accessory handset manual.Conference Calling When an outside call comes in, two handsets can join in a conference call with the outside caller. To join a call that's already in progress, just press Talk/flash or SpeSpeSpeaker. To leave the conference call, hang up normally; the other handset remains connected to the call.
